My New Life

Chapter 7

Scarlet's POV

After we were done freaking out about my eyes, we opened the sliding glass door out to my balcony. I got on Cole's back, and he jumped off. Clinging on to him, he ran into the woods. He slowed down after a mile and I hopped off of his back. We started walking further into the woods. It was very calming. A while later, my necklace started glowing again. After it stopped, I started hearing clearer and better. "Must be the super hearing." Cole said. Cool. A little bit later, I heard a twig snap in the distance. Then, I heard growling. "Shit. We walked into werewolf territory." Cole said. Suddenly, I saw a gray and brown werewolf stalking towards us. More came. We were surrounded by a pack. Cole started running towards one of them and started kicking it. All except one ran towards him. "It's okay!" he yelled. "Run!" I tried to run out of there, but I didn't get my speed yet. I didn't get very far. The gray and brown werewolf slowly turned it's gaze towards me. It growled. Then, it started snarling at my presence. It started to run towards me. I was so scared. I shut my eyes tight, stepped back, leaned on a tree, and covered my face with my arms. I felt sharp fangs bite my arm. I opened my eyes. There was blood gushing from my arm from where it had been bitten. The wolf had dark crimson blood dripping from its fanged mouth. I screamed at the excruciating pain coursing through my body. Once the wolf saw my fangs, its dark eyes widened, realizing what it had done. It backed away slowly, then went into a sprint to its pack. Cole ran towards me, hearing my scream. He had a worried face. My necklace started to glow, but not red. It started glowing white. My body started to float into the air. Light shot out of my transforming body. "The wolf bite... its turning you into a hybrid!" Cole said. My body felt like it was being controlled. While in the air, I bent over. White wings were shooting out of my shoulder blades. Then, my skin started turning white. Fur was growing. From the corner of my eye, I could see that I had a wolf-like snout. Claws were growing out of my paws. My eyes turned a baby blue color. Then, I passed out onto the dirt of the woods. The last thing I saw and heard before entering complete darkness was Cole. He was screaming my name, and asking if I was okay. I wish I could talk, but I couldn't move. It was like I was paralyzed.

Unknown POV

I was afraid this might happen with that poor, worthless, weak little girl. I must capture her and steal her hybrid power. Soon. Very soon.
