Betrayal. Hatred. Love? I'm not sure. He must've made a deal with the assasins not to harm me, but they must've known who Erin was. Then he explains.
The family is rich, and when the parents die, he won't get the inheritance, Donald will. So he hired the assasins to kill the family so he could get his inheritance, and promised to pay the assasins after they killed the family.
Then I hear footsteps. As fast as possible, I grab a small but sharp knife from the draw and pick up two screwdrivers and rush out to the foyer, where Christian is standing unharmed. But he looks at a broken girl who's had to kill to save her life.
"Erin?" Christian gasps.
I remain silent.
"Where's the assasins?"
"I killed them," I say in a strangled cry.
"Oh, that's alright," he says.
"How could you?" I say.
"Listen. What I did, I did it for us. I can give you a brilliant life. All of the Davidson family inheritance now belongs to me, I'm now the only living family member," he explains.
"Really? You want me to stay with you after this," I question, raising my voice.
He's getting closer and closer to me now. "I promised you, I'd come back."
That's right, he did. He could give me everything I ever wanted. I do still love him. He is practically the same man I fell in love with and he made me laugh and I treated him forever well and be did the same. But he's not the same man. He had his family killed simply to get what he wanted. Unforgivable. He doesn't need prison. In rage and anger and loathing, the knife in my hand impaled the right side of his neck sending blood dripping down his skin and clothes.
He's now his knees, with me looking at him as if he were a stranger who I just wanted to kill for the hell of it. "Why?" he gasps.
I know exactly how to respond to that which is the first time in ages.
"Why the fuck not," I hiss.
My hand reaches to my pocket and I draw a screwdriver and stab him relentlessly in his left eye, killing him.
Then a loud bang floods the place and I'm blasted down, my left shoulder lifeless.
I look ahead unable to move, and see that there's a police officer pointing a gun at me. I've been shot.
So this is my end. Prison is what I deserve for killing Christian, because if anything, he deserved no life at all after what he's done. I rise from the ground in agony lifting myself up with a chair as a rest. Then I see the foyer doors beginning to open, the police officer that shot me creeping in. But then I remembered.
"No don't!!!" I yell.
But it's too late. The door opens and the axe hurtles towards his face.
