You're Next

Chapter 4

The scream is so loud that if no one downstairs heard it, they'd have to be deaf. It sounded like a girls' scream, but besides me there's no one upstairs...... Besides Patricia.
I run as fast as I can to her room and get there to find the door locked.
"Is she okay?!" Max says with fear upon arriving.
"The door is locked," I tell him.
"Stand back," Felix says before booting the door wide open. But inside was something horrifying.

Patricia's face has blood thrown all around the bed sheets, as if he'd face has been hacked, but her blood is also on the wall. Patricia's blood has been used to write 'YOU'RE NEXT.' We're all in the one room staring at her.
"Noo!" Max yells in horror attempting to reach her, but Donald and Felix stop him.
"Come on I say to everyone," I say to everyone. "You don't need to see this you guys."

Downstairs, we all sit in silence, exchanging looks of sorrow and pain. Three people have been killed by these horrid assassins. I've told the family about the encounter with Tiger Mask, and they all believe that these guys must be trained since he was able enough to climb as high as that window.
"I'm going," Christian says abruptly.
"What?" I ask in surprise.
"We need to get help," he says while me and him are up against the doors out of the house. "We're useless out here. I'll be okay. I promise you, I'll come back."
I look into his eyes and see his determination to saving his family who I seemingly think he hates.
"Take this," I say handing him a clever. He gives me a smile, slices the wire into two pieces and runs out.

"I think that it's safe to say, that one of them is already inside of the house," I tell everyone.
"We need to search the house," Elizabeth says.
"Yeah," Felix seconds.
"Kelly, you wanna help me," I ask. Based on her reaction so far, she's obviously not that fussed on hunting down those who are already hunting her. But eventually, she nods.

I give her the bread cutting knife while I wield the meat cutting knife. We scout upstairs quietly, looking down dark places for them.
"How many do you think there are?" she asks.
"Well," I begin. "There's Tiger Mask, but he got out of the window, but there's no way he got in the house undetected that quickly, so there has to be at least two."
She swallows loudly, swallowing her fear.

We search most of the house, however when we arrive outside of the bedroom where Patricia's dead body still lies.
"Wait one second," Kelly says pausing me.
"What?" I ask. She goes inside anyway.
"Overlooking window," she says smartly.
"Hurry it up, I'll be outside," I say.
She looks out the window and eventually opens it and peers her head out. She then shuts and locks the window and puts a blanket over Patricia.
"Okay, let's...." she's stopped mid sentence. There's a loud creak in the room and she turns to look behind her.
"Come on Kelly we've got to move," I say to her in desperation.
"Hold on," she says bending to her knees, and hunching to look under the bed.

She looks under there for a maximum of three seconds, before screaming at the top of her lungs, dropping her knife and bolting out the room shutting the door behind her.
