Epilogue

"Ugh. Nooooo..." I roll on my side. "I don't want to get up..." Laurence continues shaking my shoulder.

"Honey! The kids are gonna be up soon." I groan and swing my legs off the side of our bed.

"Fine. Did you check on Gems yet?" I go to my armor stand and grab my armor.

"No I didn't. Jolene and Jordan got here a few minutes ago. They're already with their kids. Their mission didn't take as long as I expected." Laurence informs me as I put on my armor.

"I'm glad it was quick. It's the tenth anniversary of the forming of The Divine Children." Laurence smiles and kisses my cheek. He goes downstairs to make breakfast while I wake up the kids.

"Jason, Remmi, get up. Auntie Jolene and Uncle Jordan are back." Remmi and Jason sit up immediately.

"YAY! I can't wait to see them!" Remmi jumps up and puts her clothes on. I pick up Jason and grab his clothes. Remmi is six and Jason is three. Ever since Zoey moved out, Levin and Malachi have stayed downstairs, so they don't have to share a room. Eventually, I had Jason and Remmi with Laurence, and they got the boys old room.

"Go downstairs, Daddy is getting breakfast ready." Remmi scurries out of the room and I follow her out of their room as she runs down the stairs. I chuckle and carry Jason to his seat at the table. Remmi is already sitting next to Laurence who is serving waffles. The same meal we ate for breakfast the day we left for the Ember Island. It's a tradition.

"Come on, let's go see the others." I lead the kids out of the house and down the stairs, toward the docks where Gems is waiting for us, Evi at her side.

"Hey Aph!" She hugs me when I reach her and I hug Evi as well. "Harry and Jared ran onto the ship as soon as we got to the docks." Harry and Jared are Jolene and Jordan's kids. Gems takes care of them while they are gone.

"That's nice. Hi Emma!" I touch Emma's hand. Emma is Gems and Evi's newborn daughter. I don't know how Gems manages to take care of the three of them.

Jolene and Jordan emerge from the ship both of them carrying one of their kids. None of the kids have powers yet but we  expect that they will similar powers to ours when they're older. Plus, they don't need to suffer the way we did. All of the, becoming evil and stuff.

"Hey guys!" I run up to them and hug them. We start to catch up as we walk towards the plaza.

"Yea, not much happened. No portal that needed to be destroyed. But let's talk about other things." Jordan says.

"So. I've been thinking, and I know I'm kinda late on asking this, but what did you see when the doors took you? You never explained." Evi asks me.

"I saw a woman. To be more specific, Irene. I didn't know it was Irene when I saw her. But after a while I figured it out." I reply.

"Do you want to hold Emma?" Gems asks me and I nod. Once she hands her to me, Remmi jumps onto her lap and she smiles.

"You know Emma. Life is fantastic. I hope it will still be that way when you're older. Life used to be scary, and your mommy and her friends lived through it." I whisper to her and touch her nose. "But we're ok now. I hope it stays that way." I smile, and I know that my words are true.
