It's been a two days since I was given that flashback by Amella. She left to spread the news of "The Dark One" aka, me, coming to this world. It's a dream catcher thing I guess.
Laurence. I jump up. I look out the window and see Laurence greeting people who are just coming off the boat. One of the women...he looks at her differently. Red and black spots blur my vision.
I run down from my house to greet the unexpected visitors.
When I reach the docks, I hold Laurence's hand and lean my head on his shoulder.
The women he was looking at earlier frowns in disappointment when he leans down and kisses my cheek. I scratch my arm.
"I'm gonna go change! See you in a minute!" I tell Laurence, and dash off to our on something, well, less evil.
I grab a dress with purple bows on the short but poofy, purple skirt. I grab the matching gloves, that are mostly black but the tips of the fingers are purple.
I rush back down from my house. I head to the plaza to see if Laurence is there, and he's showing the three visitors around. There is only one boy, of the three, and one of the girls is on his arm.
The other is girl keeps blushing every time Laurence glances at her. I put on a girly act and walk to Laurence, looking happy, not evil like I am.
"I can see you aren't insane anymore." Laurence whispers to me while Logan tells the people about the merchant business in Phoenix Drop.
"Yes, I'm fine. I don't feel as thirsty for blood." I reply quietly.
"As?"
"I'm evil remember? I may not be acting like it, but I am."
"Please don't refer to yourself as evil. It makes me feel bad that I didn't pull you through that portal with me. But let's talk about these people."
"Who are they?"
"The girl with purple hair is Jolene, the blonde one is Gems, and the man is Jordan. They say they are on an expedition to Metelli. After asking them some questions to confirm they aren't bad, I told them that if you if they can stay."
"Ok, but they seem kind of suspicious. Are they related?"
"No. Jolene and Jordan, apparently got engaged before they began a trip, a few weeks ago. Gems claims her fiancé drowned just last week. They haven't said where they're from."
"I doubt it, she's to infatuated with you to have lost him recently, or to have lost him at all. It took me a while to get over the fact that you were gone. She couldn't have gotten over it that fast."
"I agree, that is suspicious, but I think they are trustworthy enough to stay in your village for a day or two." I poke him.
"Our village." I smile at him. But the more I think about Gems liking Laurence, I can feel a small lock of my hair turning red.
