"Fuck. My. Life."
Ji Eun bit down on her tornado potato before throwing her head back to the bench. It was late in the night, around eight, and the snow softly fluttered around in the park where she was. There were light posts to brighten the pathways and the frozen pond glistened from the moonlight.
One glance at the young woman, no one would think oddly of her. She looked to be enjoying her snack on the park bench. But the foul language that left her lips were enough for strangers to stray away from her. If one observes her closer, they would notice her tear stained cheeks, her bloodshot eyes, her sniffling, running nose, and the stench of alcohol that hung around her.
Valentine's day and the girl was absolutely drunk in the city park.
Nothing in her life seemed to be going her way. First of all, she dropped out of college due to financial problems. And because of this, she ended up working in her father's chicken shop, the number one place to cook your chicken any way you want it! Fry it, broil it, grill it, and many, many more. Not quite the dream job Ji Eun had anticipated.
On top of that, a week ago, her boyfriend of three years, Jong Hoon, broke up with her. He didn't even bother to give her a proper explanation for the sudden break up. To make matters worst, he had done it through phone. Jong Hoon didn't have the god damn confidence to show his stupid face. No matter how much she had tried to call him back or tried to go to his apartment, he managed to avoid her at all costs. After the fourth day of trying, she gave up and had to let the fact of their finished relationship sink in.
Jong Hoe was more like it.
She held up her second can of beer to the air. "I am a loser and the universe hates me!" She shouted into the chilly night air before chugging down the remaining beer. Ji Eun let out a whine when she finished the can. She peeked inside the aluminum can, just to check if some beer was hiding from her... "Wah, who took all my beer?"
She threw the can carelessly to land in the snow covered grass in front of her... Or so she hoped. What happened, however, was she managed to knock a passerby's head with a dull clank. The man turned towards her and Ji Eun couldn't help but burst into a fit of giggles. The man was peeved off, alright... But he just came off as cute to her and she couldn't take him seriously.
Once her laughter died down, she went back to eating her potato spiral, minding her own business again. This didn't sit well for the man as she had ignored the situation so easily. "Hey, Gamja girl! You get a good laugh and yet you won't apologize?" He barked her, his eyes narrowed into a glare. {A/n: I've read that Gamja means potato in Korean, in case you guys didn't know.}
Ji Eun pouted, waving her nearly done potato stick at the stranger. He had leaned backso to not get swiped at by the drunk girl. "I didn't mean it, mister. You just happened to walk by as I threw it!" She stomped her feet to the ground. "Where's all my beer at? I swear I had it with me... Did it run away?"
The man clicked his tongue at her. He stepped forward, picked off a can of beer from the six pack (which was just beside her on the bench), and handed it to Ji Eun. She gaped at the beer, snatched it, popped it open, and took a gracious, yet sloppy, sip of the golden liquid. She then pointed at the man again with her stick and winked. "You're number one, mister."
What the man should've done was walk away and forget about the drunk girl but he lingered. Ji Eun was about his age, early twenties he was sure. He'll admit that she was cute despite her disgusting state. The stranger wouldn't be able to forgive himself if any perverts got a hold of her while he could've done something.
