A/n: WARNING: this is a god damn +5000 word Baekhyun chapter. HAVE FUN.
Annoyed.
Restless.
Disappointed.
Byun Baekhyun felt all of the above while waiting for one message, one measly text message, from Gamja girl.
He must be absolutely crazy. He had been so willing to leave his personal number to a person he barely knew. For all he knows, Ji Eun could've been some manipulative fan, pulling at his heartstrings for kicks and planned to string him along to be his friend. And now that she achieved his number, she published it online for the whole world to see and use to their advantage.
But if that were the case, he would be receiving a terrifying amount of text messages and phone calls from unknown numbers right about now. Besides, Ji Eun doesn't seem to be the type to do any of that, someone without any ulterior motive. It's just a gut feeling. Baekhyun was oddly okay with trusting the girl he only knew for a week.
However, she doesn't seem to trust herself in texting him.
"You're really killing me here, Gamja girl," Baekhyun grumbled under his breath, while staring blankly at his phone screen. Absolutely nothing to excite him. No hello, no what's up, no how's it going. Would it be that Ji Eun doesn't want to be his friend?
That's crazy.
But, he guess, not implausible.
To his right sat Sehun, who happened to overhear him in his annoyed babble to himself. "Hey, hyung. What are you staring at your phone for?" He questioned him, finally voicing his curiosity.
Currently, all of EXO were waiting in their dressing room until it was their time to perform for the highly anticipated music show. Most of them were off in their own worlds, mentally prepping for their performance. Some humming to the song they're supposed to sing, some dancing in their own small space of the room, and some making sure they looked okay on the mirror. That was, until they heard the maknae. Each one were now focusing on what Baekhyun would answer with, curious and smug to know as well.
The said boy shuffled in his seat as he cautiously set his phone onto the counter face down. "Just waiting for my friend to text me," he murmured with an irritated sigh. "But she's being so difficult."
"Aigoo! Are you talking about the girl you visited yesterday in that chicken shop?" Jongdae piped up, his eyes averted onto Baekhyun. He remembered him mentioning that he was going to the very restaurant the previous day. The male in question nodded his head at the fellow Beagle Liner. "I knew it! Hey, stop bothering her, will you?"
"Yeah, you're probably annoying her," Kyungsoo input, most of his attention on his own phone rather than the victim of his snark.
"Rude," Baekhyun huffed to the two members with a frown.
"This is the same girl who was in that article, right?" Yixing asked, glimpsing at the other boys for confirmation to his thoughts. "The one who fainted in the S.M. lobby?"
"That's the one," Chanyeol answered with a nod. He then gave Baekhyun a stern glance. "The same one that was making Baek act weird the whole week."
Baekhyun straightened up in his seat and snapped in his defense, "I was not acting weird!"
"Yes. You were," the few of them shot back, putting the vocal in his place. Junmyeon craned his neck to look at Baekhyun, his curiosity for the girl in topic eating him up inside. "You know, it's okay."
