"Hey babygirl."
I don't make any sudden movements. I can't believe he's here, right in front of me.
"Are you gonna let me in or?" He asked with a warm smile while I on the other hand have tears dangerously spilling out of my eyes.
"C-come in?" I said but sounding more like a question. He made his way in and I quickly closed the door behind him, shutting the cool air from coming in.
As soon as I turned around Isaiah wrapped me in a huge bear hug. I sobbed on his shoulder and hugged him as tight as I could.
"What are you doing here?" I asked finally breaking free from the hug.
Isaiah's smile had now turned sad and he looked at me almost as if he was disappointed.
"Back out of the fight." He said sternly. I was surprise to say the least. I didn't think he would find out I entered until the night of the fight.
Before I could respond Chase let out an awkward cough, probably debating staying for our conversation or giving us some space.
"Who's the kid?" Isaiah asked aggressively. Big brother playing the protective role? You have no idea.
"He's my friend, Chase. Chase this is Isaiah, my brother." I introduced the boys.
"I'm gonna go upstairs and give you guys some privacy." Chase shifted uncomfortably under Isaiah's glare.
"Yeah you can start the movie, I don't mind." I offered him a smile, but it wasn't returned since he ran quickly up to my room without saying another word.
"Upstairs where?" Isaiah asked, fist clenched.
"What?"
"Where is he, upstairs?" He asked again.
"My... Oh, well you see we're just friends." I tried to make up an excuse quickly before poor Chase doesn't live to see morning.
"Boys and girls are never just friends, babygirl." Isaiah sighs and takes a seat on the couch.
"Why are you here?" I asked hesitantly not wanting to sound like I don't want him here.
"Am I not allowed to check up on my favorite girls? Where is mom by the way?" He asked looking around, probably just now checking out the house.
My face involuntary turned into a frown, thinking of all those years he could have 'checked up on his two favorite girls'.
"Why are you here now Isaiah? Don't lie or feed me that bs because how many years have gone by where I didn't see you? How many nights have I cried because I missed you and dad so much? So tonight of all nights you decide to show up and I want to know the real reason why!" I snapped, which was unusual when it came to talking to Isaiah. We were one of those rare siblings that rarely ever fought.
"You're gonna back out of the fight." He spoke in such a soft tone that I almost didn't realize he was telling me what to do. Almost.
"You can't tell me what to do Isaiah you're my brother not my father." A small smirk was visible on my lips when I remembered all the times I said that to him when we were younger.
"Dad sent me here to tell you those exact words. So let me tell you one last time, you're gonna back out of the fight." His teeth flash brightly at me as he smiles like a little child.
"Why would I back out of the fight?" I countered back, my tone filled with attitude.
"Rosey if you don't listen to dad and I, you will make the same mistakes as us. Unfortunately we chose fighting over family and we regret it everyday." He explains.
"Why do you guys always resort to running away from the problem? I can fight and I'm getting trained, you and dad are the best fighters so why are we running away? It should be those people afraid, not us."
"Trained? Who the hell is training you?" He looked pissed by this point.
"Why does it matter?" I snapped back.
Before he could answer, his phone started beeping. Without even looking at his phone he stood up and headed towards the front door.
"I have to go. Please Rosey, don't make the same mistakes we did. I love you baby girl." With one last kiss on my forehead my brother was back out of my life...
