4. Grenade- Bruno Mars

PJATO

I stared at the camp in the distance as I stood on the hill where Thalia's tree stood. Maybe leaving camp would be good for me... Go back to school, make some normal friends... Forget 'bout Brendon for a while...

"Ashley!" Speak of the devil... "Hey, where are you going...?" he started, his face falling.

"I'm leaving camp for the school. You know, like a lot of people do..." I trailed off as I looked down at my suitcase.

"But we just started going out..." he murmured, hurt in his eyes.

Shaking my head before he could continue. "I don't want to hurt you, Bren..."

"But Ash..." he started, reaching towards my free hand.

Using that hand to pick up my suitcase, I set it in the truck of my dad's silver porsche. "Being a daughter of Aphrodite is a curse, McAllister," I explained without looking at him. "Not only will it put you in love, but it'll also crush that love..."

He made me look up at him. "Would this curse make me do anything for you? Even catch a grenade?"

"In certain cases, yes..." I breathed as a tear struggled to escape. "And I won't let you do that for me..."

"Then I'd rather be under your spell then saved," he stated as he gently wiped away the tear. "Because I'll do anything for you, Ash."
