Secret Santa - (MiraXus)

Secret Santa is taken very seriously at the Fairy Tail guild. Some find it very stressful while some find it entertaining.

Secret Santa may just be about buying gifts, but who knows, maybe it could help pull two people closer together ?

~Mira POV~

"Listen up brats ! It's that time of the year again. Like it or not, it's time for Secret Santa. Once I call your name, come and collect your leaflet with the correspondents name on it and do not I repeat do not let anyone see it." We nodded as some groans were heard amongst the crowd as Makarov began reading the list out.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of secret Santa ! I love buying gifts for other people because I know everyone inside the guild very well. Last year for example, I got Natsu, and he was pretty easy ! I got him a free food voucher for the guild which he was very chuffed with.

"Mira !" Shouted Makarov grabbing my attention while waving the envelope in the air like his arm was about to snap off.

I walked over to him and gave him a soft smile before heading back to where I was standing. I opened the envelope and it revealed someone's name who'd I'd never expect to get.

Laxus.

Don't get me wrong, Laxus is a great guy but what else does he like apart from sitting around in his chair all day while judging others. Sometimes I don't even know if he has a soul...

I groaned as I slumped back into a chair in the guild and pulled out a notebook. Since I don't know Laxus very well, I guess I'll have to stalk him and take notes.

Mira the spy is out to the recuse !

~Laxus POV~

I rolled my eyes as I opened the envelope. I hoped to get Freed again because he was my best friend, so I knew what he liked but obviously my Granddad was in an evil mood and gave me someone whom I knew nothing about.

Mira.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because personally, deep down I love Mira. I like to admire her from a far rather than talking to her. She's so nice and I'm the complete opposite and although they say opposites attract, I'm sure it's not the case for her and me.

I crumpled up the piece of paper and shoved it in the bucket. Who even cares about secret Santa.

I was walking through the cold snow and shivered slightly when a breeze of cold air hit me. I spotted a little market and decided to go look inside.

It was full of sparkly snowglobes, in which one contained a love heart. I smiled slightly at it. It was pretty adorable. I wonder if Mira would like it.

Without thinking I picked it off the shelf and asked the lady at the counter to wrap it up in her best wrapping paper.

"Is this for your girlfriend ?" Asked the lady at the counter.

"I wish..." I muttered to myself.

~Mira POV~

I watched as Laxus picked up a snowglobe with a love hear inside it. I watched as he looked at it and smiled probably thinking about the person he loved.

I couldn't help but feel hurt, because I liked Laxus, and I didn't like him as just a friend....I liked him as more than a friend.

I lifted my hand up to my face and felt some hot tears rolling down my cheek. Don't get me wrong, Laxus can like who he wants but....it broke my heart to see him that happy about someone else. I've never seen him smile like that before.

I ran back home before he could see me, or see me cry. I needed some time to think, for myself.

~Laxus POV~

I thanked the lady and exited the shop, when I noticed a pink notebook lying in the snow.

I picked it up without thinking and read the contents.

'Ideas for Laxus' Present'

• Scarf
• A soul
• Food
• Snow-

For some reason, she didn't finish the last one off. But at least now I know who was stalking me.

I walked over to her house and knocked on her door.

"Who is it ?" She sobbed.

"It's me L- wait Mira are you crying ?"

"Wh-what no. Of course not. I just um...have a cold yeah...so if you could please leave me alone."

"Look, I'm not going to leave you alone until you tell me what's really wrong Mira."

"Why do you even care ! You don't care about anyone but yourself. You're just a selfish idiot." Ouch. Although it hurt, she was right.

"You're right...bye Mir-" the door suddenly swung open as a crying Mira gripped onto my arm.

"Don't go...I'm sorry. I didn't mean that, I just-"

"It's fine. It's the truth anyway. Here's your notebook by the way, it was outside the market." Her eyes widened as she opened the notebook.

"Did you...read it ?" She asked, baffled.

"Duh, of course I did. I know your my secret Santa."

"Oh..."

"Well, I'm yours so...here's your present." I said handing her over the gift. She gasped as she took the box from my hands and opened its contents carefully.

"It's the snowglobe from that shop ! I thought it was for your girlfriend..." She trailed off, blushing slightly.

"What ?! I don't have a girlfriend Mira...you know that." She breathed a sigh of relief as I gave her a puzzled look.

"I didn't get you anything though..." She admitted guiltily.

"Well what I want from you can't be bought Mira..."

"You want a soul ? I guessed right !" She said clasping her hands together.

"No, I want you, to be my girlfriend..." I said sheepishly.

"You what ?"

"I love you Mira...I always have I just thought you didn't like guys like me and-" She interrupted my rambling by smashing her lips onto mine.

"I love you too Laxus." She said kissing me again, this time more passionately.

You know, at first I was mad at my Grandad about this secret Santa thing, but now, I couldn't be more grateful to him.

Thanks to him, I found out that the girl I love, likes me back.

I couldn't ask for a better gift than the gift of love itself. It can't be bought but it can be given, and I was lucky enough to receive it.
