The lights immediately turned on and I squinted at the light. I looked back at Gavin to assess him. He had a ton of cuts and bruises all over his body and his left wrist was in a splint. Only Gavin could pull off attractive looking the way he was. He had his eyebrow raised and I realized what he had said to me. I scoffed.

"Please jackass. Don't stress yourself out, you're the one in the hospital bed." He gave a ghost of a smirk before leaning back.

"Are you...are you okay?" I forced out. He popped his eyes open.

"What do you care? You are the one that hit me with your car." I was startled.

"How did you know it was me?" I asked.

"I'd know your voice anywhere. You sounded pretty scared for someone who wants me gone." He teased. My face flushed.

"I hit someone with my car, what did you expect? You are nothing special Lahar." Something flashed in his eyes.

"Neither are you Howell." I glared at him before sitting by the bed.

"So I have something." I said. He narrowed his eyes.

"Yes you do. And I'd like it back." The way he spoke to me was scary. He was deathly serious. I fished through my purse and pulled out the envelope.

"Did you, did you read it?" He asked. I shook my head. We fell silent and I looked at his wrist that was cut up with fresh cuts before I saw something that caught my eye. I grabbed his arm, pulling it towards me before looking closer. While the fresh cuts were clearly noticeable, there were faded white cuts that ran up and down his arms. I looked closer before it was pulled away from me.

"Gavin..." I said. He refused to look at me.

"God, why did I even bother to come here? This was a stupid idea." I started to walk away before his hand gripped my wrist and he pulled me down to the bed, where I lay, one hand on each side of his head. He held both my wrists, immobilizing me. I started into his deep green eyes as he searched my eyes.

"Don't pretend you don't care for me Lexi. We both know that's not the case." He mumbled, his minty breath fanning my face. His gaze zeroed in on my lips before looking at my eyes again. I leaned down slightly, feeling his heart beat as our chests brushed. I moved towards his ear, kissing his cheek lightly before I nipped his ear.

"Don't flatter yourself too much Lahar." I whispered before yanking my wrists away and walking out the door without another look at him.

"Girl did you just get hot and heavy with Lahar?" Kerr asked. I gave her a disgusted look.

"Where did you get that idea from?"

"You're blushing. Something happened between you two!" My cheeks felt hot.

"Let's go Kerr."

*One Week Later*
I reached down and touched my toes. My legs were tight and needed to be stretched before practice. Kerr was warming up next to me. On the field was the Ridgewood girls, finishing up their practice. We unfortunately had to share a field with Ridgewood because of how close our school's were. It was freaking hot so I pulled off my shirt, leaving me in just my sports bra.

"Okay ladies! Line up!" I clapped. All the girls got in line and we started doing our warmups which consisted of stretching, jogging and simple drills. We exchanged glares with Ridgewood as they left, leaving us with the field. We started doing some shooting drills until we heard shouting and yells. I turned my head only to be greeted by the Varsity boys in their green and white.

"Hell no, we booked this field." I growled. They walked over to us and we faced off.

"Hey idiots. I don't know who informed you but we have this field for the next two hours." I said.

"Actually princess, not anymore." A guy pushed to the front and I immediately narrowed my eyes.

"Gavin Lahar. What a surprise." He looked highly attractive right now, standing in his green Riverhawks jersey.  His bruises on his face were fading but his wrist was still covered in a brace. I noticed my other teammates squaring off to the boys and I smirked. My ladies know well.

"We booked the field Lahar. Get lost." I growled, glaring him down.

"Why can't we just share? We'll take half and you'll take half." Arguing with him would be useless so I just gritted my teeth.

"Fine. But one of you animals step onto our half and I'll flatten you." Gavin smirked, walking closer and placed his hands on my hips.

"Thanks babe. I owe you."  I pushed him off me as my team looked at me with wide eyes. I stared back.

"As if. Let's go ladies, show them how real soccer looks like."
