I groaned, rolling to the side as I heard my alarm ring. Dragging my body out of bed, I got ready for my first day at my new school. I was a junior, wanting desperately to be a senior. I have no particular reason for wanting to leave school other than finding school a drag. I was well liked by everyone at my old school, actually. I wasn't a queen bee but I wasn't a nobody either. Getting rid of thoughts of my old school, I searched for an amazing outfit. I picked out a flannel and a light washed ripped skinny jeans, deeming it well enough for a first impression. Throwing on my black converse, I thought about what to do with my hair. I had long dirty blonde hair that was naturally wavy. I loved it, thinking that it made my green eyes pop a little more. I decided to just brush my hair and headed downstairs. I don't like the feel of makeup, only wearing it on fancy occasions. I found my dad cooking breakfast and my two siblings sitting at the table.
"Morning daddy." I smiled, kissing his cheek
"Morning, darling. Ready for your first day?" He asked
"Of course!" I smiled, taking a seat besides my older brother Blake
Blake had brown hair, like our father, and green eyes, like me. Blake was a senior and was well liked. He played a bunch of sports like soccer, basketball, and baseball, which led to his popularity due to the importance of athletes. I found it disgusting watching girls throw themselves at Blake, seeing as he was my brother. Looking across the table, I saw my younger sister Ashley. Ashley was in eighth grade and looked similar to me. She had blonde hair with bright green eyes like my own. She was popular and nice to everyone, which seemed to be a pattern in our family. She was always curious and always wanted to help people which I admired in her. I always warned her not to let people get to her and that people would try to break her happiness since it was such a cruel world. She'd always nod and say she'd come to me if something happened. I smiled, loving my small family. My mother wasn't in the picture since she died when I was young. It doesn't bother me because I'm doing just fine with what I have. I quickly finished breakfast, saying goodbye to my father, before jumping into Blake's car. I had my own car but we often drove to school together. I was the closest to Blake out of everyone in the family, even though all of us are pretty close. Blake followed, starting the engine and backing out.
"You sure that you're ready?" Blake questioned
"Yeah, you?" I replied
"Of course. If someone gives you any problems, tell me. Understand?" Blake stated as we pulled into the school parking lot
We lived a short five minutes from the high school, explaining how we got there quickly. I hopped out, Blake quickly at my side. One thing you should know, Blake is very protective. People stared at us as we started walking towards the doors, but I ignored it. This is reality, I'm not going to worry about it.
"Of course, Blake. Wouldn't think of hiding anything from my lovely protective older brother." I retorted
"Hey, I'm just trying to keep you happy!" Blake defended
"I'm a big girl now, Blake." I sighed
"I know but you're still my little sister." He shrugged
I huffed, not replying since nothing I said would change it. We walked into the office and I smiled at the receptionist. She smiled back, giving us her full attention.
"Hi, we're new here. I'm Allison Gray and this is Blake Gray. We've been told to come here for our schedules?" I stated
"Of course sweetheart. I'm Mrs. Dubose but please call me Nancy. Here's your schedules and come see me if you need help. Oh, here's your folders which also contain a map of the school." Nancy explained
