Chapter 8!!!

***Enjoy!!***

We woke up at about noon the next day. We were all so tired after last night. The news that Mia dropped on us were really surprising. But me and alex both agreed it was better that she didn't keep it from us. Alex didn't say if it bothered her though. I mean; they have been friends for very long. It didn't bother me. But anyways, a car came to pick me up at 1ish.

"Nice car, Jac." Mia laughed.

"Oh shut up, it's not mine."

"You sure have a lot of money then." Alex said.

"No. My dad does." I said jokingly. Then I left. The tinted windows hid my face. I thought it was funny how they commented on the car. Soon I arrived at my estate. The long driveway made me feel comfortable. I don't know why. Maybe because my house seemed like it was hidden from the world. I saw an extra car parked outside. It was a Red Mustang. Hm weird.

I walked inside only to see my dad at the table. My parents have been divorced since I was 3. My mom was at Yoga now and should be coming home any minute. I guess she will be surprised to see him too.

"Hey!" I ran towards him and leaped into his arms. I felt like a little kid again seeing her daddy.

"Hey pumpkin!" He said kissing me on the cheek.

"What are you doing here!?" I said.

"Well I still live here; right?" He joked. I smiled. I know he doesn't live here. But he uses the guest room whenever he visits my moms home here in New York. Sometimes, well, all the time, I missed these days when I got to see my dad. It's been 6 weeks since I last saw him. And 6 weeks ago I only saw him for 2 minutes.. He told me about work. And about how his company went up in the stock market. I sat their intrigued by every word.

Soon my mom walked in.

"Hey mom! Guess whose here?" I said leaping over to her.

"Your father?" She replied not surprised.

"Yeah.. How'd you know?"

"Well we all need to talk about something." Oh no. Here it comes. I had no idea. But it was gonna be bad. We all scattered into the living room.

"I have some bad news, Jaclyn." My mom said. Dad nodded; I guess he already knew.

"What?" I said nibbling on my finger nails.

"Marcia's brother died." Silence. All I heard was silence. In my head and around me. Wow. I guess we really have drifted from each other. Gosh, I should have known this. And Marcia even said that she was "spending more time with her family."

"No. How?" Apparently he was diagnosed with some kind of fatal disease. James. He was only 13. 13! I always thought he was such an annoyance. He had been slowly dyeing. He just passed away last night.

"Why didn't i know? I would have wanted to see him."

"Well we didn't know how to tell you." I sighed and went upstairs.
