Chapter 21
*:)
I had no time to think at this point. I just had to act.
"I wonder who that is?" My dad said with a smile. Why in the world would this man grin at a time like this? I found this all the least bit funny.
"Uh, Dad. I told someone they could come over last night..."
"What? Man, he ruined the surprise!" He hopped up and opened the door. My boyfriend and father gave each other firm handshakes. What was this?
"Jaclyn. I've decided to let you date Daimion. I do not have a problem with it, anymore at least. Your my child and I just thought it was the best for you not to see him." Now they both stood there, being all smiley and whatnot. "But, I was so wrong. This is a young, fine, gentlemen. And I don't think you could find anyone better to be with." I ran up and gave me father a huge, air-grasping hug.
Apparently they spoke while I was on my "vacation" time. They even went out to dinner. When my dad actually goes out to dinner with someone, who is male, it means he has great respect for them. They had planned to do this all along. Not the fighting of course, but Daimion coming to the house the day after I got home. Yet Daimion ceased the plan sense he already spoke to me last night. But all that mattered was that I had the most two important men back in my life.
"I have also been sober for a week." He said with a smile. My father vowed to himself to change his ways after I left. Even he knew one week was not a lot, but it was beginning to something good.
We spent the rest of the day celebrating Christmas, together. I made turkey, stuffing, homemade bread, and many other delectable foods. The two hungry boys scarfed it all down, barely leaving enough for me. My mom stopped over for a couple of minutes. She didn't say much, mainly merry Christmas. But she did talk to Daimion for a few, and she seemed to like him.
"Don't you think that you should see your family today?" Dad asked Daimion. Now that I realized it, our dads were very much alike. They both drank. Except now mine is sober and I hate to say it, but successful. Daimions father was unemployed and pretty much nocturnal. My dad was the CEO of a huge company. So alike yet so different at the same time.
"My mom came home today... I dont know why. I guess just say hello."
"Really? That's awesome." I said excitedly. He did not seem to respond the same way I did.
"No, no it isn't." He was shaking his head.
"We need to go see her. And Opaque. She must want to see you today."
"I did already. We opened presents and my dads watching her. They should all be just fine." I was not taking this, no not today. Today was a day to make things right. I did. Now it's Daimions turn.
"I agree with Jaclyn. You should go." After a few more minutes of begging and pleading, he gave it. But really, honestly, how bad could this women be?
