She was never like that before, she never had her hands on her hips for nothing, she probably really wanted me to make some friends and I intend on being a loner. I was popular at my old school but not here, this place is utter terror. The only thing I am thinking about now is Josh, his sweet lovely smile, but I have to call Anje, who am I kidding I really am in love with him.
Suddenly the phone rings.
“Hello?” I was so scared that would be Anje, she was always the boss of me since kindergarten but I have always been faithful to her because she was always there for me when I needed help and guided me along, but still I was scared of her.
“Hello? Selena, you are supposed to be at the mall by 6,” she complained.
“6?” I asked.
“Yup,” she sounded annoyed.
“Sorry, I can’t make it, my folks want me home to meet the new neighbours,”
“Oh, god when are you ever going to learn, Sel?”
“Sorry, I can’t,” I put the phone down and sigh. I hope this is going to be good.
My mum made me get dressed in a cute but casual, as she calls it jeans and top, and my sister too. We looked hot, I mean I looked hot as usual. The door bell rang and my mum started hyper-ventilating.
“You two be nice,”
“Huh,” we sighed together.
“Hi,” and overfriendly man and a pretty wife stepped into the house. A sassy girl followed close behind looking at our house in disgust.
“Hi, Barbra,” my mum smiled at the lady and showed her to the kitchen. My dad walked the man in showing him the house. We were left with the irate idiot.
“Hi,” Hannah said moving forward.
“Whatever,”
“Excuse me,” Hannah said looking for a fight.
“Shut up twirp, my dad and mum dragged me to this dump, they probably feel sympathetic for you, this house is a dump,” she walked a step forward towards me. I never felt so scared in my whole life not even for Anjie.
“And you, stay away from Josh Duncan his mine,” her words ran in my ears.
“I have nothing to do with that selfish idiot,” I said.
“Don’t start with me,”
“I am not starting with you and behave yourself in my house witch, cause you don’t want to mess with me,”
“Jessica, honey, come and see their porch,” her dad called from outside.
As she gave us dagger looks and walked away, Hannah smiled.
“Good one sis,”
“Yeah, she better not mess with me,”
“So.....who’s Josh Duncan?”
I felt myself going red cause Hannah walked away with a smile on her face.
At dinner my mother sensed that Jessica and I weren’t talking and said, “So you two go to the same school? How awesome is that?”
“Not Awesome,” I said.
My mother gave me a look that said she would punish me later.
“What grade are you in Jessica?” my mum asked.
‘10th,” she smiled innocently.
“Sure, but you look like a 50 year old granny,” I didn’t know why I was zinging her maybe cause she was with Josh.
