Stonestar's Story

Chapter 3

        Stonepaw bolted out of the Apprentice Den smiling. She padded towards the fresh kill pile. Featherpaw was by the fresh kill pile sorting through the prey. He looked up and smiled.
"Hey Stonepaw!" Featherpaw called. Once Stonepaw was beside him Featherpaw dropped a mouse at her paws. "Here!" He said smiling. Stonepaw smiled and sat down. Featherpaw sat down with her with a squirrel.
"The Gathering is tonight." Stonepaw reminded Featherpaw as she began to eat. Featherpaw nodded.
"I'm really excited," Featherpaw said. "I hope I get to meet someone from CrystalClan."
"I can't wait to see the Leaders!" Stonepaw said. She began to imagine the four Leaders talking to one another. "They're the greatest Warriors ever!" She said smiling. Featherpaw nodded finishing his squirrel. Ferntail padded over to them.
"Okay Stonepaw, say goodbye to Featherpaw. We're going on a hunting patrol with Lightningheart and some other Warriors." Ferntail said padding towards the group of Warriors by the entrance of the camp. Starclaw, Ghostclaw, and Jackalpaw made up the group. Stonepaw stood up and nodded.
"Okay. Bye Featherpaw," she said. "Hopefully I don't run into any SnowClan cats this time." She whispered to him before padding away to join the group. The group exited the camp.
"Are you ready for your first Gathering?" Starclaw asked Stonepaw as they padded by the river that bordered their clan.
This is the river that separates our clan from CrystalClan... Stonepaw thought. She looked up at her mother and nodded smiling. The group stopped at a clearing. Stonepaw sniffed the air. She smelled the sent of vole. She looked around and spotted the tiny creature by a tree. She crept behind the tree. Once the vole was close enough Stonepaw pounced. She killed the creature with one swift movement. Stonepaw padded towards the group with her kill, smiling proudly.
"That's a great kill, Stonepaw!" Starclaw said smiling. Stonepaw dropped her prey and padded towards the bushes once she spotted a rabbit. She tackled the rabbit and killed it easily. She smiled and looked over to the group as it started to leave. Stonepaw got the prey she killed and padded along with the group.

The hunting group returned to the camp. Stonepaw dropped her prey by the fresh kill pile. She saw Jackalpaw by the apprentice den. She padded towards him.
        "Hey Jackalpaw! I just realized we haven't talked since the ceremony." Stonepaw said smiling.
        "Well I have better things to do than talk to you." Jackalpaw said, looking away from her.
        "W-what...?" Stonepaw said backing away with a hurt expression. Featherpaw came running towards them.
        "Don't mind him. He's just grouchy because he messed up during training." Featherpaw said smiling. He looked back glaring at his littermate. Jackalpaw snorted and stomped away. Stonepaw nodded and looked at the setting sun. The clan began to gather at the camp entrance. Featherpaw and Stonepaw padded towards the group. Stonepaw forgot about Jackalpaw once she realized it was time for the Gathering. She smiled and padded out of the camp with her clan.
        "Im really excited!" She said smiling. Featherpaw nodded. The Clan crossed the river into CrystalClan territory.
        "CrystalClan territory!" Featherpaw said excitedly. He smiled brightly looking around. Stonepaw ignored him. Her mind was wandering thinking about the leaders.
        "I hope I get to meet Onyxstar. But...that probably won't happen." Stonepaw said with a hint of disappointment in her voice. Featherpaw snorted and rolled his eyes. The clan approached the meeting area. Stonepaw smiled seeing the other cats from the other clans. Her fur stood up straight once she saw the clan leaders gathered together. Stonepaw smiled I can't believe it... My first ever gathering. She thought.
