Stonestar's Story

Chapter 8

A moon had past since Stormheart had visited Stonepaw in her dreams. Stonepaw missed training. She missed talking with Stormheart and improving her skills. But most of all, though she didn't want to admit it, she missed seeing Harepaw. They were friends and she liked talking to him. Stonepaw looked at Silverpelt and sighed. She looked around camp. Featherpaw padded up to her.

"So, are you excited for the Gathering tonight?" He asked.

Oh I forgot about the Gathering! She thought. "Uh, yeah!"

"The Clans about to leave. Come on!" Featherpaw said. He turned around an padded towards the entrance to camp where the clan was gathering together. Stonepaw followed him.

I'll get to see Harepaw again! Stonepaw thought. The clan exited camp to make their way to Gathering area, The Star Clearing.

ThornClan arrived at The Star Clearing. SnowClan had just arrived. Stonepaw heard growling.

"Murderers!" A cat shouted. She looked at the cat who was shouting. Barkheart. His fur was bristling as he shouted at Brownpelt and Reedclaw. Brownpelt just stood there stone faced. But Reedclaw, his eyes gleemed with hatred and evil.

"Mother? Father?" Featherpaw asked looking at his parents. Brownpelt didn't look at her son. Reedclaw hissed and looked at him. "Whats going on?"

"Stay out of this!" Reedclaw shouted. Featherpaw winced and stepped back. Stonepaw hissed.

"Don't talk to him like that! He's you'r son!" She shouted. Reedclaw hissed and turned back to Barkheart.

"Everyone! What is going on?!" A cat shouted. Onyxstar walked up, the other leaders following.

"Brownpelt and Reedclaw murdered clan membe-...cats..." Barkheart said. Onyxstar glared at Brownpelt and Reedclaw.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Well...Ravenheart and Sunpelt were trespassing on our territory. We had just gotten word that they were exiled from their clan so they were rogues, trespassing on our territory. We had no choice." Reedclaw said, with a chuckle.

"You didn't have to kill Sunpelt!" Barkheart shouted.

"Enough! I'll let Fawnstar deal with them! Let's just get through this Gathering so we can go home." Birchstar cut in. The Gathering started. Everyone was tense as the meeting started. Stonepaw looked at Featherpaw who was unusually quiet. She sighed.

"Hey...Stonepaw." A voice whispered behind her. She looked behind her. Harepaw was sitting behind her. He walked over and sat beside her. "So...it's been a while, huh?" He said. Stonepaw was baffle. He actually sounded nervous!

"Uh...yeah...has Stormheart visited you recently?" She asked. Harepaw shook his head.

"No." He said. Stonepaw looked at her paws.

"Oh..."

"I've missed training with you..." Harepaw said. Stonepaw nodded.

"Me too...so...I've been meaning to ask you. How many more moons until your a Warrior?" Stonepaw asked, desperate to change the conversation.

"About two moons." Harepaw replied.

"Great you two are catching up and all, but hush up!"  A reddish-brown tom glared at them.

"Sorry, Blazefur..." Harepaw said. Stonepaw rolled her eyes.

"Whatever." She said annoyed. Can't I have a conversation?!  Blazefur hissed and turned back around. The meeting was almost over. Finally...I can go home! She was angry. The meeting was finally over. The clans started to gather to leave.

"I'll miss you..." Harepaw said as they stood up.

"I'll miss you too...I wish Stormheart would visit us soon..." She said the last part in a whisper.

"Maybe he will...don't worry we won't be apart for long. Even if he doesn't visit us we'll see each other at Gatherings. And maybe I could lead my patrols to the border! Either way I'll be waiting to see you again." Harepaw said. They said their goodbyes and left the Star Clearing.

Stonepaw's thoughts were spinning. Why do I like him all of a sudden?! She thought. Don't freak out Stonepaw, you'r just friends nothing more!

"You okay, Stonepaw?" Featherpaw asked.

"O-Oh! Yeah! I'm fine! So, would you like to train together, tomorrow?" Stonepaw asked. He'll distract me from Harepaw for sure! She thought.

"Sure! Scartail'll be happy to train you!" Featherpaw said cheerfully. Stonepaw nodded. The clan came back to camp. Stonepaw went to the apprentice den and fell asleep in her nest.

A/N~Okay, I THINK THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHAPTER SO FAR!!!!!! My writing (not to brag or anything) Is definitely improving in my opinion! ^v^ Tell me what you guys think and I kinda get writers block a lot (heh) so I' love to hear your ideas! I know im probably talking to maybe 2 people at this point sooooo Im gonna go write more! Until the next chapter! GoooooodBYE!!!!!!!!!
