Stonepaw fell asleep in her nest. She was woken up, almost immediately after she fell asleep. She stood up and looked around seeing a dense forest. Stormheart appeared in front of her smiling with warm eyes.
"Hello my little Stonepaw!" He said.
"Stormheart!" She said, excitedly. She was happy to see the cat. Stormheart jerked his head towards a clearing.
"Come on, we need to start training." He said padding towards the clearing. Once Stonepaw caught up she tilted her head.
"But why?" She asked.
"You are destined for greatness my apprentice...you must be well trained to live up to your destiny." Stormheart replied smiling at her. Stonepaw was still confused. She already had a mentor. Wasn't Ferntail enough? She shook her head and looked up at Stormheart.
"Okay, then I'm ready to train." She said dashing towards the clearing. Once Stormheart joined her another cat appeared. Stonepaw recognized the scent the tom carried. SnowClan. And he was not just a SnowClan cat...it was Harepaw. Stonepaw hissed and unsheathed her claws.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Stonepaw! This is a friend." Stormheart said before she attacked. Stonepaw glared at Stormheart. "This is Harepaw."
"I know who he is!" Stonepaw snapped.
"Stonepaw!" Harepaw said excitedly. He padded over to her. "I didn't know you trained with Stormheart too! I'm so happy to see you!"
"SnowClan fox-dung!" Stonepaw shouted at Harepaw. She tackled him and raked her claws across him stomach. Stormheart growled and kicked Stonepaw away. Harepaw staggered to his paws, his eyes gleaming with terror.
"S-Stonepaw...I...I thought we were friends..." Harepaw said. Stonepaw hissed.
"You thought wrong! I'd never be friends with someone from SnowClan!" She shouted.
"Stonepaw! He is your ally! Behave this instant!" Stormheart hissed. Stonepaw growled. Harepaw checked for blood. He nodded and looked up. He smothered a mrrow of laughter.
"What are you laughing about?!" Stonepaw nearly shouted.
"Oh nothing." Harepaw replied turning towards Stormheart.
"Okay now that that catastrophe is over we can start our training." Stormheart said. "Stonepaw, you should work on your back kick."
"How would you know if I need to work on my back kick?!" Stonepaw shouted.
"Because, I've seen you train with Ferntail and you need to work on your back kick!" Stormheart retorted. He sighed and padded to the clearing. Harepaw nudged her.
"Hey...don't be upset. If it were up to me, I'd say you didn't have to train at all." Harepaw said. "I bet your the best fighter in your clan. You probably don't need training." He padded into the clearing. Stonepaw stopped in her tracks.
H-He's just trying to confuse me...like he was doing at the border! She thought. Saying stupidly nice things to catch me off guard! I'll never be tricked by a SnowClan cat! She raced to the clearing, filled with determination. She stopped in front of Stormheart, glancing angrily at Harepaw. The apprentice looked over, trying to smother a mrrow of laughter.
"Toms are so immature!" She hissed to herself. Stormheart nodded, ignoring her comment.
"Okay Harepaw, try and defeat Stonepaw while she tries to land at least one successful back kick." Stormheart said.
"Okay, but I'm sure I'll never be able to defeat her." Harepaw teased, nudging Stonepaw gently. Stonepaw hissed.
"Stop teasing me! And stop being so nice to me!" Stonepaw hissed. She reared up on her fore paws, letting all her weight fall onto her front paws. She kicked with her hind legs, at Harepaw making him fall backwards. Harepaw let out another mrrow of laughter and shot up onto his paws. He lunged at her and tackled her.
"Now we're even." Harepaw said.
"For what?!" Stonepaw couldn't help but giggle.
"For tackling me at the border." Harepaw retorted. Stonepaw rolled her eyes.
"Can you unpin me now?" She asked. Harepaw nodded and unpinned her. Stormheart nodded and padded over to them.
"Okay you two. Stop mooning over each other," Stormheart said. Stonepaw couldn't tell if he was teasing or not. "It's time to go home." Harepaw seemed disappointed.
"Okay...well...bye Stonepaw." He said. He nudged her again before vanishing. Stonepaw looked at Stormheart angrily.
"I was not mooning over anyone!" She hissed at him.
"You better not moon over anyone." Stormheart said. Stonepaw stepped back confused. She understood why she couldn't moon over a SnowClan cat, but why not a cat from her own clan? "You'll understand eventually, little one. But for now you must leave." Stonepaw then woke up, looking around. The Leaf-Bare wind blew past her, sending a chill down her spine. She looked outside and realized it was Sunup. She raced out of the apprentice den ready to train with Ferntail.A/N~I don't know if this is a good chapter...can someone please tell me if I did well...ANYWAYS!!!! Until the next chapter!
