38. Millhous asylum

A/N: I am so sorry, this chapter is late. I had some difficulties with my computer, eh. But anyway, here is the chapter 38!

I couldn't believe this was actually happening. I was getting away from my home. Why was I even trying to reject it? I have been wishing and begging for it for months. Time was soon 8.30am, and I was almost ready packing, just few more clothes. I heard my father yell for me. I walked downstairs and saw Alice inside the house.

"Good morning, Chester" she smiled. Why is she always smiling? "Are you ready to leave?"

"Not yet" I said.

"Is it okay if I come with you, I could ask few questions, in private"

"Yah. Sure" I nodded. Alice and I walked to my room. I took my bag and began to tug my clothes in.

"Are you sure about this?" Alice asked.

"I'm sure" I sighed. "I don't wanna stay in here, so..."

"Everything will be alright" she said.

"Everyone keeps saying that" I muttered. "But nothing changes"

Alice sighed, nodding. "Are you in school?"

"I haven't gone there for almost 4 weeks... Okay, once. And I stayed there only for one lesson"

"Okay. We will work that for you, Chester"

I nodded. "Yeah, whatever" I muttered, closing the bag and swinging it to my shoulder.

Alice sighed. "Let's go"

I nodded and we walked down. I saw my dad, and he tapped me on the shoulder, saying "I hope this isn't a goodbye"

"You never know" I muttered and I shrugged away from his touch. I looked at Alice and she nodded. We left the house and walked to her car.

I stood front of the Millhous Asylum. I wasn't sure about this anymore. Woods surrounded the building. There was another smaller building too. I look at Alice and she smiled.

"Are you scared?" she asked.

"A bit" I muttered.

"First day is always scary, it's normal to feel that way. Let's get in" Alice said and I followed her to the lobby. There was two hallways, elevator and a check in desk. Ms.Tobin nodded to the check in and a lady behind the desk, nodded back. I looked to the hallway. Eleven doors. We stepped into elevator and Alice pressed the fifth floor button.

Blood rushed inside me faster as we moved in the elevator. The door opened, and I saw another door ahead. Alice unlocked the door and we stepped in. I saw ten lockers, numbers on them.

"Okay, you can have a locker where you keep your shoes and jacket" Alice said, opening the locker 9.

I nodded, taking off them.

"We have some rules in here, and I hope you will follow them" Alice said. "We do everything for the safety, that's why we don't allow belts, jewelry, lighters or any sharp things"

I nodded, taking off everything I had to.

Alice and walked further the place. I saw sofas, tables, a TV, different games and cards, it looked like a nice living room. There was 3 unfamiliar boys sitting on a couch, talking. They all silenced as they saw me. I looked away.

"Chester, this is your new room" Alice and pointed the room, the door said 9. I stepped in.

"I've never had this clean room" I muttered, looking around. There was a bed, a comfy chair, clothing cabin and a desk. I placed my bag on the bed.

"You can unpack soon. I want to introduce you the other boys first"

"Do we have to?" I asked, obviously nervous.

"Yes" Alice said. "You aren't good with other teenagers, are you?"

"I'm terrible with other people" I muttered.

"I promise, these guys are not going to be bad. They're all nice" Alice said. "Let's go"

I nodded and we walked to the living room. I sat down on the corner of the couch. I pulled my legs against my chest, wrapping them with my arms. The other teenagers came in too. There was 8 boys. They all looked different but everyone had the same sad look on their faces.

"Hello everyone. This is Chester and he is new here. Let's have round where everyone tells their names" Alice said.

"I'm Jonathan"

"Dominic"

"I am Jason"

"Rian"

"Mitch"

"I'm Shannon"

"Victor"

"Justin"

I nodded, and Alice continued "Okay. Let's see what today happens... Jason, Dominic and Shannon, school starts in 5 minutes, Go. Rian, doctor wants to see you 1pm. Jonathan, you should talk with your psychiatrist. And Chester, I will talk to you for a moment"

I nodded and everyone went away for their way. I got up and walked to my room. I sat on the bed and crossed my legs. Alice followed me and sat on the chair. She smiled.

"So, Chester" she started. "How old are you?"

"Sixteen" I answered.

"Do you have any close friends? Girlfriend maybe?"

"I have a boyfriend" I muttered.

"That is great. Are you two close?"

"Really close. But he's in a coma right now so practically, I have no one" I shrugged and leaned against the wall.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?"

"Car accident" I sighed.

She nodded and bit her lip, then she said. "Everyone is here for their own reasons. You have your own, and you don't have to tell anyone about it, if you don't want to. But, do you know why you're here?"

"That question makes no sense" I muttered, rubbing my leg.

"Admitting your situation is really important. It might take long time to make it better, but it won't last forever" Alice smiled.

I looked down at my lap. "I'm depressed, and I need help"

Alice nodded, "I heard you have selfharmed yourself-"

"Do we have to talk about that?" I cut her off harshly.

Alice looked at me for a moment. "No"

I cleared my throat, keeping my gaze down.

"What do you wanna talk about?" she asked.

"I don't wanna talk about anything" I muttered.

"You need to talk to me, so I can help you"

"Why does it have to be today? I am going to be here tomorrow, you know" I grunted.

"We can talk tomorrow, if you want that" Alice said.

I nodded.

"It's okay, Chester. I don't wanna make you feel uncomfortable" she said smiling and got up. "I'm gonna go now. Feel free to come to the shared room, to play cards or something"

"I prefer staying in here" I said.

Alice nodded and left, closing my door. I sighed and got up. I looked out of the window. I saw some woods and a parking lot. Is this the place i'm going to live now?

But little thing I did know was... that Mike would have wanted me to do this.
