43. Don't fuck it up

A/N: I have good and bad news. Good news: I am back on Happy pill! Bad news: chapter 44. will be the last x( I will update the last chapter on Monday/Tuesday, depends how busy I am. But, enjoy this chapter c:

"I failed you" he muttered next to me.

I was still waking up. "What are you talkin' about?" I asked confused.

"I promised I would take you away from your dad. Instead, I fucked up real bad. I didn't keep my promise. I failed you" he said.

"You didn't fail me-"

"I did!" he cut me off.

"Mike. Listen up. It doesn't matter anymore, I am away. I'm not going back. Promises are like rules, sometimes they gotta break. Do you know how many times I promised I would start again? I failed everytime, but you forgave me. You kept believing in me" I said and grabbed his hand into mine.

A small smile came across his face. "I love you"

I kissed his cheek. "I love you back"

"What are you gonna do today?" he asked.

"I gotta go back to Millhous before 10. And I only got 3 hours to leave in a day, so.." I said.

"Okay" he muttered, shoving his face against my hair. "My cast is gonna get removed today. Let's see if I can walk"

"Seeing you in a wheelchair would be so adorable" I chuckled.

Mike laughed. "Shut up"

I knocked on the locked door, waiting for them to let me inside. Finally, Alice opened the door. Before she said anything, she gave me a hug. She pulled away and smiled. I closed the door and threw my shoes and jacket to my locker.

"How's Mike?" she asked.

"He's great, actually" I said. We walked to my room and she closed the door.

"How are you? You were missing him really badly"

"Relieved. I thought he'd never wake up" I muttered.

"What next?"

"I don't know. I've been thinking about getting a job. When I turn 18 and I gotta leave this place, it would be easier to settle down" I said.

"You are creating your future. Is Mike included in your vision?"

"Yeah. And I hope it works out. Kinda getting tired of things always fail" I sat on my bed and leaned against the wall.

"I'm glad you showed up today. I can believe it's hard to leave him, again, but you still need to stay here. But I can go and try to make you few hours more of your free time. You're going to be at the hospital anyway, and we are working together. At least, for the time when Mike is in the hospital" Alice said.

"Sounds good, you do that" I smile at her.

Alice nodded and left the room. At the same door opening, Juci walked in. "Band garage?"

"Do I have to?" I muttered.

"Sean is finally here, now let's go" he said and grabbed my hand pulling me up.

"Juci, I think I should spend the time with Mike. He needs me now" I said.

Juci looked at me. "What you mean? He woke up?"

I nodded.

"Oh" he said, leaving his grip from my hand. "I get it. Your boyfriend needs you now. So, you just ditch your friends. It's fine" he finished and walked away.
