<Sleep in heavenly peace.>
The voices of the harmonious congregation filled the church hall, which had great acoustics, causing pleasant reverberations to be heard all around.
I found myself staring at the back of a guys head, deeply fascinated by the stark contrast between his dark (almost black) hair and the pale hue of his neck.
I know that I was being extremely weird at that moment bit Ethan was so damn intriguing.
Me and my family were in the church that we had just recently begun to attend.
I was slightly taken aback when I caught sight of Ethan (even though he had previously told me that he was not religious) and his family. It was strange to see him with his family, wearing more formal attire, which was very different to his typical 'nonchalant' approach to fashion.
Although he had, to an extent, conformed, he still seemed a little out of place beside his seemingly pristine family. They literally looked like angels, all of them had blond (almost white) hair and all were extremely attractive. I noticed, as the family walked in, that girls as young as I would estimate twelve and as old as maybe forty (weird I know), would gaze, in awe of a certain blonde, as he sauntered in, his arm gently rested against the lower back of his girlfriend.
I had been lying stomach flat on Ethan's bed softly humming while attempting to translate it into a musical score.
"Hey Ethan, could you try this please?" I asked, Handing the roughly marked paper to Ethan, who had been strumming quietly on his acoustic guitar.
"Sure." He took the music and began to strum the tune that i had notated. His brows were furrowed and he unconsciously bit the inside of his cheeks, which only accentuated his already annunciated cheekbones, which I noticed he did when he was concentrating.
While he played, the door suddenly burst open and to my unpleasant surprise revealed the first person I had the displeasure of interacting with on my first day at the new highschool. He glanced at me, a mixture of confusion and disdain visible in his eyes. His gaze then averted to Ethan, who had ignored Wyatt's presence and continued to strum on his guitar.
"Dad wants you to come to dinner tonight." My eyes widened at the word dad and I just managed to stifle a gasp.
Ethan slowly looked up in annoyance. "Tell him I said no." He said firmly, immediately putting his attention back to his guitar.
"He has some important stuff to tell us as a family. I suggest you turn up or dad'll be mad." He stated, sounding rather irritated.
"Whatever." Was Ethan's only reply.
What sighed before giving Ethan a long hard look. I guess he realised that he wouldn't get anywhere with him so he decided to leave. Not before giving me a glare as if to let me know how much he dislikes me.
After the door had slammed shut I looked at Ethan, hoping he would say something to lighten the mood that had set in the room. He was in his own world though, glaring at his guitar as if he wanted to stab at it multiple times with a blunt knife.
"So are you guys related or something?"
No shit Davina!
I mentally face-palmed myself for asking such a dumb question.
Ethan's eyes snapped up so quickly I could have sworn he had forgotten I was here. He still had daggers in his eyes and I was slightly taken aback when he looked at me.
