"Is Cheryl comin' tonight?" Nadine asked as she mixed a cocktail in a large punch bowl.
"I haven't heard from her... so, I don't think so. I really hope she does, though."
She looked at me, a smile playing on her lips. "I hope she does too."
I helped Nadine sort out the table, putting out nibbles and all of the alcohol before getting myself ready. While I was appyling my make up I heard the door go.
"I'll get it," Nadine shouted.
"Ok babe... I'll be ready soon." I replied back, picking up my mascara. As I flicked it expertly over my eyelashes I could hear Nadine greeting the girls followed by the deep tones of manly voices.
Once my make up was done, I took the two large rollers, which I used to give it volume, out of my hair and sorted it into place.
"Kimberley?"
Turning to face my door, I smiled. "Come in babe." I knew it was Nicola by her accent. "Hey," I said once she had entered. She looked gorgeous. "Wow... you look amazin' babe!"
"Thanks," she beamed. "You look gorgeous too!" She walked over to me, pulling me into a hug, which I returned.
"Sarah at the drink already?" I giggled as she pulled away.
She laughed. "You know her too well."
I watched as she walked around my room, picking up various objects. "You have a lot of nice things," she smiled, looking at one of my wooden tribal bowls.
"I like all that kind of stuff." Placing my make up bag back into the toilet, I turned to face her once more. "Comin' babe?"
"Yeah."
We made our way to the living room, our arms linked.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Kimberley!" Sarah put down her drink down and ran in my direction. "How are you babe?" she asked, wrapping her arms around me.
"I'm fine, thanks. You?"
"I'm good." Smiling, she turned to a handsome looking man. "This is Tommy... my boyfriend."
"Hi Tommy," I smiled, extending my arm for him, which he took.
"Hello Kimberley," he replied, shaking it.
It was then Nicola's turn to introduce me to her boyfriend, Charley, who seemed lovely. He was also a good looking guy.
It was another half an hour before Jason turned up, Nadine greeting him at the door with a kiss, which cause an echo of aww's all round. She blushed as she pulled him into a hug afterwards.
"God! He's built like a brick sh*thouse!" Sarah whispered, causing me to giggle.
"Hey Jason," I smiled, walking towards the pair. I gave him a kiss on the cheek before pulling him into a hug.
"Hey Kimberley," he replied in his thick American tones. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine babe, thanks. What about yourself?" By this point everyone had came over to greet him.
"I'm good, thanks," he replied, shaking Tommy's hand.
"You got any good music?" Sarah asked after intoducing herself to Jason.
"There's an ipod dock over there. I think my ipod is already on it," I smiled, pointing to the device.
"Beware of the musicals," Nadine giggled, earning a slap from me.
