"What was that all about!?" Nadine asked as soon as they stepped foot through the front door.

Having left her car at the couples home the previous night, Kimberley cursed herself for her decision to get ready there. "We were kissing," she answered with her head bowed, glad that Jason had only dropped them off due to his work commitments.

"So, you've been at it and you didn't think to tell me!?"

Her friends annoyance both amused and confused Kimberley on equal mesures. "No! We haven't been at it," she bit back, matching the Irish womans tone before following her into the kicthen. "Nothing has even happened between us."

Nadine placed her bag down onto the table before she made her way over to the American style fridge in the corner. "It didn't look like nothin' from where I was standin' babe," she softly spoke, lowering her tone as she reached for two bottles of water. She knew she was overreacting but she didn't like being kept in the dark, especially by her best friend. "You know I hate keeping thing from each other."

"Nadine..." Kimberley laughed. "I wasn't keeping anything from you. She kissed me last night, we kissed this morning. Does it mean anything? I don't know yet... becasue we didn't get the chance to talk about it properly."

The Irish woman looked sheepishly towards the tiled floor. "Sorry," she apologized. She truely did feel like a d*ck.

Smiling, Kimberley stepped forward with her arms out. "You know you would be the first person I'd turn to if anything happened babe," she assured, pulling her into a hug. "But there's nothing to tell... just yet."

Nadine instantly pulled away, her face breaking into an enormous grin. "Just yet?" she giggled.

Her cheeks rosying a little, Kimberley lowered herself into one of the kitchen table chairs. "I really can't believe it you know," she sighed. "Not after everything that happened between us. Not in a million years did I think I'd ever get the chance to kiss those amazing lips of hers again, to feel them kissing me back."

"God! She's turned you into a right old romantic!" Sitting down opposite, Nadine smiled at how adorable her friends words were. "I take it you gave her the letter that you've been shielding away from the outside world! I actually can't believe you kept that!"

Kimberley coiled back in horror. "Of course I didn't. And I don't plan too. That would just bring all the bad memories back."

Nadine nodded. "True. You should bin it then."

"I keep telling myself that... but I just can't bring myself to do it," the blonde explained.

"Why?"

"I don't know."

It was a mystery even to Kimberley.

Kimberley relaxed back onto the sofa. The morning sun was shinning in and she found herself smiling at the sound of the birds singing outside her window as gently stroked Pixie, who was lazily sprawled out across her lap. "Mummies got a day off," she spoke, the dogs tail wagging in response.

She was broke from her thought at the sound of her mobile beeping. Leaning forward, she sat her tea down onto the table infront before she got up and headed into the kitchen where she had left it.

Cheryl

Re-reading it, Kimberley found herself grinning like mad and didn't waste anytime as she quickly typed out a response.

"You hungry?" she laughed down at Pixie, who was looking up at her with puppy dog eyes.

The small, white dog cocked it's head to the side, as if trying to understand her.

"Are you baby?"

Kimberley knew she sounded like a right weirdo, but it was inevitable to her how she couldn't talk to the little dog. She was like a child to her. "Give me a mintue then," she smiled, her phoning vibrating in her hand.

Of course I want you to babe!
Ok, I'll send you a text

After quickly pouring some dry food into Pixie's bowl, Kimberley made her way into the living room and switched on the television.

"Today we are joined by the lovely Cheryl Tweedy!"

Her heart skipped a beat when the Geordie lass popped up on screen, wearing a full-hearted smile.

She was beaming.

And Kimberley smiled to herself, becasue she was the only one who knew why.

Cheryl skipped down to the door. "Alright babe!" she smiled, pulling it open to reveal a casually dressed Kimberley.

The blondes lips curved. "Hey hun," she replied as she leant forward for a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you too! I still can't believe you ditched me yesterday for work!" Taking a step back, Cheryl winked. "And there was me thinkin' you liked me."

She was of course joking, but Kimberley couldn't help but notice the undeniable vulnerability in her tone. "No work... no money," she simply said. "Come here." Stepping inside and shutting the door behind her, she opened her arms out. "I would loved to have stayed... and you know that babe."

"I know. I'm just being selfish... sorry." Cheryl walked into the embrace, her arms immediately snaking around Kimberley's waist. "I love the perfume you got me," she sighed, the sweet scent of her girls own fragrance filling her nostrils. "Thank you."

"You have it on," Kimberley beamed.

"I know."

Pulling back, she lovingly tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear. "You smell beautiful."

"You look beautiful," Cheryl flirted back, her expression utterly adorable. Tilting her head up slightly, she brushed their lips gently together. "You always do."
