It was quiet, way to quiet to be normal. I got out of the van as quickly as I could and ran back into the Krispy Kreme's. "Back for more doughnuts?" Chris asked.

I shook my head frantically. I was out of breath and scared shitless to say the least. I sat in the same chair I'd been in when I first came in and tried to breathe. I turned to look at the van. Someone was getting out.

They walked straight toward the small doughnut shop. Oh shit.

I froze. This was really really scary. I turned back around and silently prayed. I was not dying tonight! I was still scared out of my mind. I heard the bell over the door ring. I glanced. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a really tall dude in a business suit. That's who was in my car?!

Still shaking from the rush of adrenaline, I walked back to the van and got in.

By the time I got back to the hotel, Andy, Christian, Jinxx, and Jake, were already there. Apparently, they took a cab since I had the van. Andy was sitting upside down on the couch, watching Batman, Christian was laying on the floor in the kitchen, Jake was snoring away in his bedroom, and Jinxx was flirting with someone in the hallway.

I cautiously set down the box of doughnuts I'd bought on the counter in the kitchen and walked to my room. Sweating, I peeled off my gear and ran for the bathroom to take a shower.

Finally clean, I pulled on pajamas and plopped down in my bed. It felt good to be off my feet for the rest of the night. I knew I wouldn't have to get up.

I drifted slowly into a deep sleep.
