Michael wasn't sure what was worse - the fact that the boy who undeviatingly broke his heart through a guileless text message and was right across from him at the same exact park, or that Calum was gawking at him with ferocious eyes, not caring that the green haired boy was completely and utterly devastated after hearing the kiwi male doesn't feel the same.

"We should turn around," Michael suggested, not even wanting to proceed the longing stare Calum was leaving behind. It'd be better if they went somewhere else, even if this was their place and not Calum's. They could go somewhere else, like the movies or back to Luke's place. He just no longer wanted to be here.

"Well I'd agree, except he's coming this way right now," Ashton said in a frustrated tone. Maybe Michael was annoying him and Luke.

"Hey," Calum said awkwardly, his voice quiet and awestruck. He had sweater paws and Michael found it absolutely adorable, but he had to remember the reason he was so angry with Calum. The boy practically rejected him without a care in the world as if it wouldn't effect Michael in any certain way what so ever.

"Um hi."

"I just came to see how you're doing."

"Fine," Michael replied bluntly. There wasn't much to tell, aside from heartbroken, hurt, disappointed, sad and lonely. Emotions all over the place, really.

"Oh, I'm doing fine too. Are you still up for that party? It's in two days. My mum planned it last minute."

The green haired boy shook his head, not being interested in attending their stupid party, especially because Calum was going to be there and he'd most likely have his new girlfriend there. Michael's surprised Calum doesn't have someone he's holding hands with right now.

Oh how the boy wishes he could be the one to hold his hand, rather than some girl who he's just going to dump in a few days anyway.

"Sorry, but no. I have plans."

Total lie, but it didn't matter. Michael no longer wanted to spare time for the boy and demanded that they leave right then and there, leaving Calum to feel shocked and depressed, while Luke and Ashton were quite satisfied with the boys reaction as they walked off and left him in the dust.

"How'd things go?" Mali questioned her brother while finishing the remains of her ice cream.

Calum scrunched his nose before replying angrily. "Just peachy."

"That word is stupid. And also, have you ever thought that Michael doesn't want to talk to you because you rejected him?"

Calum felt pissed. Of course he's considered his best friends feelings. He always does. The boy even apologized for not feeling the way Michael does. Isn't that enough?

"It's not my fault that I can't return the feelings!"

"Well maybe you can. I mean think about it, you've had multiple girlfriends, at least three or four per month and you end up dumping them within a week because they don't please you enough. Sounds to me like you're either a fuckboy or you're using girls to distract yourself from the fact that you're gay."

"Please Mali, I'm not gay and you know that."

"Whatever you say, fuckboy."
