Chapter 1: home sweet nightmare

Sold! read the sign in front of a new enchanting, but desolate house that will never be home to Rachel . She was forced to move from her home in New York to a house in Washington. Her father thought a new change of scenery would be good for them. Rachel thought differently. She was a half way across the country from her only friends Kat and Chloe. Not to meant that her boyfriend dumped her right before the move.

As the black, glassy, Chevy ford truck rolled up the drive way to a new home a moving truck straggled behind abruptly stopping on the side of the street. Merging out of the car a brown naturally curly haired girl in her teens began to unpack their belongings.

"Thanks ," She said with a fake smile to a mover who gave her a box full to the brim with her belongs. Losing her balance as she tried to carry the box towards the porch she clumsy dropped it.Crash! All of her belongs fell out and landed on the ground. As she frantically collected everything and shoving them back in the box, she failed to realize that her prized baseball signed by the babe had rolled down the newly cut grass and up to a pair of feet.

"Hey, is this yours?" A voice asked. Looking up , Rachel find herself staring at a brown haired hottie. He bent down , picked up her baseball and swaggered up the drive .

"Yeah, that's mine, thanks ." She said gliding a strip of hair behind her ear. 'Ok ,Rachel, Time to be brave and talk to him.Go! Do it! Talk to him don't be a chicken' She told herself.

"No problem," he remarked, tossing the ball to her . "I'm Jason by the way."

"Hi, I'm Rachel," Rachel said.

"Cool, so where you get the signed ball?" Jason asked.

"My grandfather gave it to me," She answered.

"Cool, So we are going to be neighbors?" She nodded, " Maybe I'll show you around sometime," She nodded "You going to Lincoln high school?" She nodded " you don't ta....." Before Jason could finish a Porsche with one of those kind of girls who you just hate but what to be-you get my drift- shouted from the drive seat," Jas, I have been looking for you everywhere, "

"I got to jet , Rachel talk to ya later ," Jason said hoping into the passenger seat. The car sped away as Rachel turned her attention back on unpacking.

Walking in the house Rachel knew this would be a nightmare.A new house , ,and new town, and new people were going to be nothing but a pain in her ass. She carried her box up the flight of stairs and in to her new bedroom which she wished she never stepped into. The room was gorgeous. It was per furnished with her favorite color purple. It was the perfect size , had a balcony and a private bathroom.

"Like ?" Her father asked stepping into the room and putting down another box of Rachel's belongings.

"It's ok," she huffed. 'Who are you trying to fool it's perfect' she thought.

"I know your still mad that you had to leave but Rach I know you'll love it here, Chinese food good for you?" Her father asked, putting on a happy face but Rachel could tell he felt guilty for forcing her to move . She hated when he did that, it always made her feel guilty and she knew the move was hard for him too .

"Chinese sounds great, dad," she answered, hugging her father she said , "sorry for acting like a bitch ."

"Language,"

"Sorry forgot,"

That night Rachel and her father ate Chinese food on the wooden floor of their soon to be living room with pillows as cushions and a small DVD player running their favorite movie 'The Goonies' . Afterwards they said their good nights and went to bed.
