My legs were getting weary and I knew at some point they were going to give out. I had to stop. I dropped to my knees and held my head in my hands. I waited and waited for my breathing to lighten up. It seemed like I had been running for hours, and for all I knew, I had been. My head started to get light and everything began to swirl around me. I tried to get up, but stumbled and fell to the ground again. Everything was so blurred. I thought about everything that had happened in the last few moments. I still didn't understand why I was running, and I wanted to go home. I wanted to see Dimitri. I needed to know what was wrong. I wanted to go home, but knew that there would be a drunk father there waiting for me.
I got up, brushed off my jeans, and walked back the way I had came. The second time everything looked so much more beautiful. The trees, the sunset, everything. It was all so beautiful. I loved the smells of the trees. While I was walking, I came across a certain tree that caught my attention. The tree had only a few branches sticking out of it, and on one of those branches hung a noose. It was the tree that the whole town talked about. The one a young boy had hung himself under. I'd always thought that somehow that would be an awful way to end your life. I thought that maybe, just maybe something could go wrong and you'd be left dangling there, looking at all of your surroundings, but I thought this was a beautiful place. A beautiful place to hang a noose, a beautiful sight to be your last, a beautiful place to end your life.
I walked up to the tree and began to climb it. I shimmied up the tree branch by branch and finally made it to the one with the noose on it. I sat there for a few seconds wondering what I had in mind for myself then slid my body across the branch until I was right next to the hanging noose, then grabbed it in my hand and slipped it over my neck. I began to cry. My whole body shook as I sobbed. Soon enough, I lost my balance on the branch...
