The night had passed slowly. I managed to get a few hours of sleep, the most I've gotten in a while. I woke up to see the sky with dark grey streaks in it, creating a gloomy atmosphere within the city.

I noticed both Amber and Drake were passed out, neither of them managing to stay awake for the night. The icy winds blew through the building occasionally, signaling a storm was approaching. I sat and started to gather our supplies and prepare to leave and trek around once again.

"It's freezing, hand me jacket or something." Amber yelled to me as she slowly got up from her sleeping position and moved into the corner.

"I wish we had some, I wouldn't be here freezing my ass off then."

"I take it your answer is no then." She said to me as she gathered her stuff whilst huddle in the corner of the room trying to stay warm.

I moved to Amber and sat by her on the floor huddle to stay warm. The winds didn't seem to die down, but only pick up. The building would make alarming sounds as the wind beat against it. A loud metal creaking sound howled throughout the building giving me chills. A loud creaking noise sounded once again, making me worry about the structure of the building.

We sat in the corner together trying to brace ourselves from the wind. I thought about waking Drake up and leaving, to go find a safer shelter from the storm. A loud crash shook the building, causing Amber and I to jump.

"That scared the shit outta me!" Amber barked at while getting up to go wake up Drake.

She walked over to him sleeping and then proceeded to lightly kick him in the side, and I could only help my give a slight laugh.

"Hey dumbass, let's go I don't want to die in this building. We've been waiting!" She yelled at while walking back to our corner and plopping herself back down beside me.

"Well fuck me."

I looked ahead at the second floor landing to see that the wind had blown some debris blocking most of the staircase. There was a slight drop down and only one of us could go at a time.

"Who's going first? Em, Amber?" Drake questioned us.

I looked at Amber and she quickly took the chance away and proceeded to walk toward the edge of the landing. She threw her backpack down the gab and started to shakily climb down. I followed her once she reached the bottom. The creaking of rusted metal seemed to intensify the lower we got. The wind was whipping the side of the building, causing some of the few window panes that remained to break and blow around inside.

We reached the lobby of the building which was partially flooded, we waded into the room trying to stay as dry as we could. I read a sign that still managed to hang onto the wall, it read "Goldberg Building".

"Ah!, this water is so fucking cold, I'm gonna freeze!" Amber yelled to us as she walked jaggedly through the icy water.

I let out a sly laugh, this was nothing compared to some of the winters we had lived through, especially when all this shit started.

After walking through freezing water for a few minutes which felt like a long excruciating hour, we waded onto a broken platform with a half broken window that we could squeeze through, though a slight drop waited for us on the other side.

We exited the building, shivering whilst the wind hit us. We slowly walked the broken streets of what was left of Boston. I continued to hear the loud creaking of metal as we walked father away from the building. I looked through the crowed streets to see if there was any place that could shelter us from the outside, but I saw nothing that looked of interest. We needed to find something rather quickly, we were already soaked with freezing water and the wind was hitting against us, we might as well just lay down in the streets for hypothermia to come a grasp us, or no less a raider comes and shoots us. That's rather grim, but that's how I think now, it's hard to be positive when you're around constant negativity and you don't even know if tomorrow is going to be your last day.
