“Triniti, you’ve been on the computer all day! When are you going to give someone else a turn?” My younger sister, Serenity, complained. Craig had me interested all day. We talked about everything, from food to school life.

“Leave me alone, Serenity! I’m talking to someone!” I walked over to my bedroom door, and shut it right in Serenity’s face. She was such a bother sometimes. If killing wasn’t illegal, Serenity would have been dead right now. “How about you get some real friends for a change? Weirdo!” Serenity shouted from the closed door. I ignored her, even though I was conscious about not having real friends. When I was sure that Serenity was gone, I went back to chatting with Craig.

My heart stopped. Craig was the Craig Crippen? I was talking to someone that was really famous! Of all places, why was Craig on chatme.com? It really didn’t make sense.

Before I could type another word, my computer shut off completely. “What the-” I looked down to see my mother pulled the internet plug. “Mom! I was talking to someone!” I screeched. Craig would be so mad that I logged off on him, without even saying bye. I would have to explain to him that my mom was being so insensitive.

“Girl, I know you ain’t! You’ve been on that computer all day. Come downstairs and get something to eat, and then I may think about you getting back on.” My mom took my hand, where and lead me out of my bedroom. I was so enraged right now, I didn’t even know what to do with myself.

When I made it to the kitchen table, there was salisbury steaks and rice biscuits staring at me. “My favorite,” I said sarcastically, sitting at the table. Even though I was only talking to Craig for a day, he was the only thing on my mind.

I ate at my food like a bird, but I was trying to hurry up and finish. My mom couldn’t cook worth anything, so anything she cooked, I had to pretend to like it. After I finished what I wanted, I threw the rest of the food away and headed upstairs. My mom didn’t even comment, so I made a smooth exit. Hopefully Craig is still online.

I cut on my computer, and my history was restored.

Craig was still online, so I continued to talk to him. He responded a lot faster then I even thought.

I was honestly surprised at Craig’s responses. He changed his own sweet-boy image with me quickly. It was like I was walking on eggshells with him; I had to be extra careful with him, or he’d get mad.

My heart stopped, and I couldn’t type anymore. Someone asked me out? It was a weird feeling. No one liked me at school—no one even talked to me at school. Someone giving me this type of feelings felt nice. It even felt wonderful. No guy ever gave me this attention.

Craig’s last line made me smile and blush like crazy. Did he really see me as being cute? And more importantly, does he think our new relationship is serious?
