"Let me take you on adventures and you'll have a wonderful time.", He grinned.
"Sounds like a plan."

9:35
It was the weekend. I sleepily turned onto my side, yawning in the process. I immediately yelped because Calum's face was right next to mine. My face began to heat up and I turned around. I guess I had been moving too much because Calum fidgeted and wrapped his arms around me, sleepily pulling me backwards towards him.

"Let's stay in today." He said with a yawn.

My parents were already at work so we had nothing to worry about. I agreed and we somehow fell asleep again.

11:45

I woke up to Calum looking at the floor with close attention. I stared at him confusedly but didn't make my consciousness known. He continued to walk slowly, almost like he was trying to retrace his steps or remember the whereabouts of something he misplaced.

He suddenly yelled with triumph and crouched down at a floor board. He pulled it to reveal a hidden nook where a wooden box had been placed. He took the box out of the hole in the floor and gingerly placed it next to him.

"What's that?" I asked, forgetting that he didn't know I was awake.

He jumped and answered, "It's a box from my childhood."

I got up from the bed and sat crosslegged on the floor beside him. The box was a vintage, detailed mahogany chest with a keyhole on the front. He took out a necklace that he had always been wearing but kept hidden and unlocked the box. There were old pictures of smiling kids and serious parents and grandparents, some letters and cards, a compass, a set of watercolor paints and a paint brush, a painting of a sunset and a bracelet.

He took out the pictures and flipped through them, telling me the stories of family barbecues, school dances, holidays, graduations, and birthdays. He told me about how he used the compass his grandpa had given him to play in the backyard and how he pretended he was on adventures. He told me how his grandma was an artist and had given him the watercolor set before she had passed away. He had painted the sunset with her the night before she had passed.

He came to the bracelet and stopped. He looked nervous and uneasy. He took a breath and said, "This was my mom's. She said to give this to the girl I fall in love with, it was a family heirloom."

The diamond bracelet shined in the light that shone through the open window. "It's beautiful." I said mesmerized by the glow off the jewels and the story behind the piece of expensive jewelry.

He said something under his breath but I didn't hear him, I don't think I was supposed to.

We talked about his family and memories. He told me about funny moments and awkward family reunions. We laughed and I begged him to tell me more stories. He was so happy when he talked about his family, his eyes would crinkle on the sides and his eyes would shine, he glowed somehow. I liked it when he was happy so I asked him to tell me more.
