I sighed looking at the names on the list. We had marked stars on those that were trustable, and circled the names we were unsure of.
"Maybe I need an elite squad for my self." I mumble, looking at Sky.
"That could work out for you. People you know you can trust." I smile as he agrees with me.
This morning he had been waiting at my door, with a gun holster in his hand and he had showed me how to fasten it and then I put the gun that I had taken from him in it as he watched me with pride in his eyes.
Until I could trust my guards, this gun will be my protection along side Sky.
We continued to make the list of trustable people, Sky pointing out who would be good for my elite squad.
By lunch time we had a list of men that Sky trusted to protect me and we went out to the dinning room. I had already asked that all the guards be present at lunch.
I could tell who were close just from looking at the seating.
Sky pointed out the men who were always by Trilavantas and who held rank because of him.
I instantly disliked them.
I reach the raised dias and stand proudly, a hush settling the room to dead silence.
"I am Allisara DeLarosen, your Princess and soon to be Queen." This got everyone's attention as they stared at me.
"I will be taking back my kingdom, but first I need to get my palace in order. In three days time I expect all of you to swear your loyalty to me. If you haven't by this time in three days I will have to replace you."
"I swear my loyalty to you Princess." Came a quick response. It was from the side Sky had told me were loyal.
I smiled.
For the next hour, guards came and swore their fealty to me, kneeling at my feet and welcoming me home.
By the end of lunch, half the room was loyal to me.
I had kept an eye on the table that was loyal to the old reagent, watching as they slowly left the room.
They had three days left. Then it becomes a man hunt for them.
The room started back up with laughter as I got to know my guards, realizing the lack of females.
"Sky, why aren't their any girls in the guard?" I ask him once the room was cleared.
"Because no one wants a girl doing a mans-" he slowly stops talking as I glare.
"I will get a few candidates for you to look at."
"That would be a good idea"
"Okay Alli." He runs a hand across his stubbled jaw and smiles at me.
We leave the room and make our way through the halls.
We had to decide who would be in my elite.
"I also want a few girls in the elite." I add after an hour back in the study. We were both bored out of our mind an needed a break.
"Done, can we leave now? I hate being inside for too long." He sounded like a child and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yeah, I wanna pick some things from the shack I lived in, haven't been there for a few months now."
"And why haven't you been there?"
"Its hard to go anywhere when you are a prisoner."
"Wait, you, a prisoner."
"I may be a princess but life wasn't glamorous for me." I sigh out.
"Alcraft?"
I shake my head no.
"Forgress?"
Another no. He stops and stares at me. there was only one prison left.
"Not that one? What did you do to get into that shit hole?"
"I stole. Trust me, prostitution was not what I thought as a smart career."
He just stared at me like I was nuts, then sighs and smiles at me.
"Show me how you stole then?" It was my turn to stare.
"You serious?"
"Very"
"Every one knows not to steal from any guard."
"Well lets see how good you are."
I couldn't help but laugh. here I was, thief turned princess, and my first real friend in years wants me to steal from him.
This was weird.
"Fine, but I am gunna do it when I know I have a chance."
"Fair enough. How do you wanna get to your old home?"
"Any way works, other then a horse."
"I know just the thing."
He takes my hand and leads me in a new direction, keeping a quick pace until we reach a plain door.
"This looks like a storage room." I say in a monotone voice. He just laughs and opens the door. The room was dark and you couldn't see anything inside.
"Ladies first." Sky says, bowing and laughig at me.
I sigh and slowly walk inside.
"There is nothing here." My voice echoes around and I stop. This room was huge.
I hear a click and the lights turn on, rows of vehicles on either side of me.
"Welcome to the royal garage. Your ride awaits you Alli." I hadn't heard Sky come up behind me, but suddenly his lips was close to my ear and my heart did a small flutter.
I didn't have time to figure out what that was, so I destracted myself with the cars until my eyes fell on the motorcycle.
"That one." I point at the gleeming black Harley. It was at least a few hundred years old, from before world war three at least, but it looked sturdy.
"You sure?"
"Yes"
"Okay then." He throws the helmet at me and I quickly put it on, getting on the bike and wrapping my arms around Sky's waist.
The bike roars to life as he turns the key and soon we are taking off. It was incredibly amazing and I loved how fast and free we were on this bike.
