Wait, what? Dad wants us to talk. About what exactly? Didn't he think yesterday was enough? I really need a break, a peace of mind. Get to hear something other than disciplinary words from my parents.
"I'll get it!" I shouted when I heard a knock on the door. Surely avoiding my dad. Who ever it is, is a life saver. I didn't even fake an apologetic look to my dad I showed pure relief. With a sigh of relief I turned and headed to the front door. Maybe it's my brother, he's never been home for two months now. Daisy has been away for a while too, maybe she's home. The only thing is...the two of them would just budge in and not knock.
When I opened the door Nate was standing there. In his black jeans and an orange hemisphere shirt. I bet he was trying to look normal but he looked H.O.T. The orange showed off his blue eyes. He just looked worried when I looked at his face, something is bothering him I need not to ask to know. I couldn't help but notice the hair that was out of place right before his ear. My hand itched to help it get behind his ear. For some reason today things felt a bit unsual, like I can't be the me I normaly am around him.
"You must really like what you see to stare for that long. Wanna get a room?" Nate flirted with me wiggling his eye brows. I sort of forgot he was at my door step. Last night didn't do me any good, look at me now. "Argh please, get a grip. Come in" I commented rolling my eyes. My cheeks felt so hot, I just hope they don't look as they feel. Yes, I may be blushing. Just maybe.
"I've been trying to text you, call you and even left tons of voice mails. What's up with your phone?" He asked trying to look un affected but I clearly saw through it. He was panicking. Since I said I'll explain to him what happened I never got the chance to, the girls didn't let me leave their sight. Especially after knowing what happened . They felt I needed comfort. My friends are really supportive, all three of them.
"Afternood Rose, mr Williams" Nate greeted my parents. Funny how he calls mom by name and dad by last name. My dad is not the you-can-call-me-by-name type. He has this I'm not your peer attitude towards mine and Daisy's friends.
"Hi dear. Lovely to see you again" mom and dad said the hi in unison but only mom carried on with the rest. They were now both sitting watching some sitcom. Linda sat right infrom of them with a bowl full of ice cream which she probably won't finish. If you think you could tell her to get just enough for her, you'd die trying.
"Lovely to be here too" Nate said back. This is really getting to my nerve, for how long will this continue? I don't wanna be with my parents right now. I'm already under the same roof with them, that's enough. "Ohhk. We can cut it short now. I'm the one you came to see remember?" I finally said lengthening the okay and adding a retorical question. The first line was for all of them and the second was strictly for Nate. He has to draw the line.
I know it's crazy coming from a girl who was happy her guy bestfriend was known by her parents but I just don't need this today. "Jealous much? Let's get ice cream I know your heart is almost falling out of place."
We went to the kitchen to get us some ice cream before 'my heart fell off'. We walked upstairs, each stair case providing a bit more oxygen for me. I tried being patient and wait till I got to my room to start eating my ice cream but I failed. My scooping started mid way the stairs. Why watch it melt while I have it right at my hand. All wrapped around my fingers. Hhmmm come to mama. I thought as I aimed my spoon to my mouth. The glorious feeling hitting my taste buds. It felt like ice running down the oesophogus. Closing my eyes a bit at the minty flavour in the blue barry ice cream. Tasty! Scrupmtious! Heaven on my tongue.
"So what's the big deal with you? I felt the tension in the living room." Nate asked the question once again, closing the door behind him. I sat on my bed and scooped one last time before I explained everything to Nate. All this time he listened. He always does. Other factor added to the huge list of things I like about him.
