Dawnleaf sat beside Snowflower as they shared a frog. The clan was quiet, most dozing in the heat. The branches at the camp entrance rustled suddenly. Dawnleaf was expecting a patrol to return when suddenly a small ginger she-cat appeared. Her Amber eyes were wide with fear. Instantly the warriors stood bristling. The strange cat shook. Hollytuft walked up to her.
"Who are you?" Hollytuft asked keeping her voice soft. "Your not from the clans,"
Dawnleaf watched the strange cat shake her head.
"I-I-I'm from the Twolegplace," the small cat explained. "My name is Jade,"
"Why are here?" Spiderfoot asked eyes narrowed.
"I saw some of you near the Twolegplace," Jade answered. "I-I-I'm looking for a cat with black fur and Amber eyes,"
"You mean Blacktail?" Russetfur asked walking over.
Jade blinked. "I think so,"
"That's helpful," Ambergaze muttered.
The patrol returned suddenly, Wrenflight, Shrewclaw, Frostheart, Spottedflower and Blacktail pushed their way through the camp entrance. They bristled all except Blacktail on seeing this strange cat.
"Jade?" Blacktail asked.
Jade turned around. "I was right! Knight or Blacktail or whatever you're called now,"
"Blacktail," Blacktail answered. "You're alive!"
Jade nodded. "But I don't know where Peach is,"
"I'm right here," Peach answered.
Dawnleaf watched the three cats.
"I don't know anyone," Jade sighed looking around.
Blacktail pointed with his muzzle to Russetfur. "That's my mate Russetfur," Blacktail's gaze rested on Dawnleaf. "And this is my daughter Dawnleaf. She's the medicine cat,"
"Medicine cat?" Jade asked.
"A cat version of the vet," Peach explained.
Blacktail nodded. "I'd introduce you to my other kit Duskfoot but he's hunting,"
Cherryheart, Fallensky and Berryclaw came over.
"These are my kits," Peach explained. "Cherryheart, Fallensky and Berryclaw,"
"Aren't you afraid of Scar?" Jade asked her eyes wide. "He'll find you Blacktail!"
"I killed him," Russetfur meowed.
Jade winced. "Oh. Do your parents know you killed a cat?"
Dawnleaf saw Blacktail flinch.
Of course. Blacktail killed Russetfur's parents. It's a wonder those two are mates.
"Do you always ask so many questions?" Russetfur asked.
"Who's this?" Bravestar asked suddenly.
Blacktail faced her. "This is my other littermate, Jade,"
Bravestar nodded. "I that case, Jade welcome to Shadowclan,"
