Duskfoot sat under the pines. How strange it felt without his Mother and sister. Duskfoot heard leaves rustling suddenly. He bristled. Suddenly with a screech and a flash of tortoiseshell fur a cat slammed into him.
Duskfoot cried out. Trying to grab his attacker. His attacker was faster, tangling her paws in his and knocking him over. Duskfoot thrashed as he found himself pinned down. Suddenly the weight was off him and he heard a familiar huff of laughter.
Dawnleaf's green eyes were filled with amusement.
"I've still got it!" She purred.
Duskfoot gaze landed on where her hind leg was once twisted. It was straight like the others.
"It's fixed," Duskfoot breathed.
Dawnleaf purred.
"I have to tell everyone!" Duskfoot cried.
Duskfoot raced back to camp. He almost knocked Ambergaze over.
"Dawnleaf's back!" Duskfoot cried. "And her legs fully healed!"
As if on queue Dawnleaf, Jade and Russetfur appeared. Their clanmates gathered around listening to what had happened. Duskfoot purred in delight.
That night when everyone was asleep Duskfoot headed towards the Gathering Island. When he arrived Grasspelt was already waiting.
"Grasspelt!" Duskfoot purred.
"Duskfoot I need to tell you something," Grasspelt meowed.
"What is it?" Duskfoot asked. "Did something happen?"
Grasspelt shrugged. "I'm expecting your kits,"
Duskfoot blinked shocked. Grasspelt looked at him anxiously. "You aren't angry are you?"
Duskfoot shook his head. "Of course not,"
"I just don't know what we are going to do," Grasspelt meowed. "It's going to be hard. And I know that neither of us doesn't want to have at least one kit grow up in our clan,"
"It'll work out," Duskfoot promised. "It'll all work out,"
