When Dawnleaf woke her leg was covered in hard white stuff. She sniffed it and realised how stiff her leg felt. Only one Twoleg remained. Dawnleaf ignored the Twoleg and tried to stand but the white thing was heavy and it was a struggle.
The Twoleg left suddenly and moments later one of Jade's Twolegs came in. It picked Dawnleaf up gently and they headed back to the monster together. The Twoleg kit was sitting inside the monster. The adult Twoleg said something to it and the Twoleg kit gently held Dawnleaf.
The monster roared and began moving. Dawnleaf watched the Twoleg suspiciously.
Even if I wanted to I can't run away. It's too hard with this thing on my leg.
The monster stopped suddenly. The Twoleg kit carried Dawnleaf out into its den and sat her down with Jade and Russetfur. Russetfur came over vigorously licking her.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Russetfur sniffed the white thing on her injured hind leg. "What's that?"
"It's called a cast," Jade explained. "The Twolegs put it on Fawn when he twisted his leg too. It's to straighten it,"
"I don't like it," Dawnleaf hissed.
Russetfur sniffed her. "You smell different,"
Jade sniffed her. "It's because the Twolegs gave her needles to stop her getting sick. They give them to kittypets all the time,"
"So I can't get sick?" Dawnleaf asked. "Ever?"
Jade nodded. "Peach and I have those needles too,"
"Twolegs are good with some things after all," Russetfur muttered.
The Twoleg kit appeared suddenly with two strange objects.
"Those are our food and water bowls," Jade explained.
The Twoeg kit put them down, first filling one with water and the second with what looked like rabbit droppings.
"I am not eating that abomination!" Russetfur snarled.
Russetfur lapped the water. She spat it out suddenly. "This water is disgusting!"
The Twoleg kit watched them and frowned. It disappeared suddenly and came back with another bowl filled with white stuff.
"That's milk," Jade explained.
Dawnleaf lapped it up. "It tastes good!"
Russetfur tried it too nodding in agreement. "At least they gave is this. Too bad we'll starve to death,"
The Twoleg kit opened something suddenly.
"That's a door," Jade explained. "If you go outside you can hunt something,"
Russetfur nodded running outside.
"We should go out too," Jade meowed. "The Twolegs will let us hunt but they won't let us bring it inside,"
Dawnleaf nodded following her outside,"
