Chapter 9: Elizabeth

It was obvious that Collin and I were falling for each other. Now that other people were noticing it.  I had to stop the rumors by not hanging out with him. Troy knew something was up so practically the whole school knew. I was going to ignore Collin even if he was the only one I trusted -besides Teresa- but I couldn't have him lose his reputation because of my problems. If he kept hanging around with me they'll all keep talking.

I waited in bed for my mom to come in and tell me good night or ask me if I wanted to eat. She did but, asked me to come downstairs. I walked behind her cautiously to find Frank sitting at the table too, with a beer in his hands, staring at my mom. We sat down and then she started.

"So sweetie you know how I go away on business trips for a day or two, to do surgeries?" she asked me holding Frank's hand.

"Yeah... I never had a problem with it." I said shrugging.

" Well, that's why I called you down here," she said. " I'm going on another one of those trips but, it will be for a week."

I really felt my heart stop right then and there. If my mom was leaving that means I would be left in the house with Frank for 5 days. In other words, he meant he could do whatever he wanted to me every day! What was I going to do???

" Oh." I chocked out.

"  Is this okay with you? Because I can turn the surgery down and say it would interfere with family," she said nicely.

"NO, it's okay you don't have to turn it down. Go it's okay. I'll hang out with Teresa while you're gone." I said smiling as greatly as I could.

I got up and wished them both a good night heading to my room.

I woke up jumped into the shower trying to get to school early.

I walked down the hall and went to the locker. Teresa wasn't there because it was 15 minutes earlier than I usually would come to school. I got my things and headed to the library. The librarian, Mrs. Lindel, greeted me and I went into the back to grab my favorite book. I checked it out and went to class. My teacher sat there flipping through pages, then he looked up to see me.

" Good Morning Elizabeth"

" Good Morning Sir."

I sat down in the back of the class and started pulling out my books. The warning bell rang which meant we had 8 minutes to get to our first class. I sat there and waited for class to start. Collin and Asher walked in laughing and Collin looked in my face and suddenly stopped. Both sat away from me and kept whispering about whatever they were talking about. After the first period ended I walked to class not trying to talk to anyone. Teresa ran up to me and asked me how I was.

"Hey, What happened yesterday?" She asked.

"Nothing, I felt sick so I went home." I lied. "I've got to get to class talk to you later?"

She shook her head and then I walked into my next class. Collin had this class with me and sat two seats away from me. I guess he needed his distance too and understood me last night. Honestly I really thought he would've tried to bother me about it but, I guess not. After the second period I went to the locker to grab my money and other books. As I walked onto the line to get lunch someone grabbed my wrist and I twirled around to meet face with Troy.

"Hey, Darlin' " he said smiling at me.

"Hey, Stephans" I said grabbing a tray.

He grabbed one too. "What's up with you?"

" Nothing, the usual just getting lunch." I laughed.

I went to pull out my money but he handed the lunch woman 2 $20.00 bills. I gasped to say no but, he grabbed the change and guided me to bench. We sat down and he stared into my face.

"Yes? " I asked smiling.

" Oh, nothing but, isn't this our second date?" He said smirking.

" I don't think we had a first one." I shrugged.

He ate his apple and I just drank water. 

In the mix of talking I saw someone staring at us. It was Collin. I didn't want Collin to think I was dating Troy or that I was ignoring him to hang out with Troy. I went to get up but Troy grabbed my waist and sat me back down.

"Where are you going doll?" He asked scanning the room.

"Nowhere, to the bathroom," I said throwing away my tray in the trash nearby and getting up to walk to Collin but, I guess he noticed me coming and walked out the lunchroom. I sprinted out and tried to catch up with him but, he didn't slow down. I finally reached him.

" Hey! Why are you walking so fast from me?" I asked catching my breath.

" You want a break from me so go back to Trash." He said continuing to walk.

" What the hell are you going on about Collin. I just didn't want to have everyone talk how we were -- "

"Dammit, Elizabeth just stop it. Okay?" He yelled and then jogged away.

"I'm sorry!" I yelled back. I walked back to the lunchroom just as the bell rang. I grabbed my bag and Troy insisted on walking me back to class.

I was tired and so I really didn't participate in any classes. When the last bell rang I didn't rush home knowing that there wasn't going to someone waiting for me since my mom left this morning while I was in school and wouldn't be back until next Wednesday. Troy approached me.

"Hey, come with me to the Homecoming game tomorrow night and then we could head to the after-party at my bros' house."  He said leaning on my locker.

"Sure, what time to be ready?" I asked.

" Be ready by 6 o'clock" He said leaning down and grabbing my wrist.

I walked into the house and heard something hit the floor. It was a beer bottle. Which meant Frank had been drinking.

"Where the fuck hav-ve you be-e-en?" He slurred.

"I go to school. I just came home Frank." I whispered.

"I'm starving bitch! Feed me!" He yelled at me.

"OK I'm coming. I'm going to put my phone on the charger." I said walking up the stairs.

I put my phone on the charger and went to Collin's contact and started at his number. That's when I looked up to go back downstairs but, Frank was standing in my doorway. I jumped up to make him a burger. He pushed me back down and started taking off his clothes. He pushed me onto the bed and I squirmed to get out of his hold.

"Stop moving Whore!" He yelled. "That  bitch left you alone with me now we're going to play games all week."

I squirmed but, I just made him more upset and he pulled off my clothes. He wedged my thighs apart from one another with his knee. Then I felt his fingers inside me and I let out a scream. I cried the whole time. I wish my mom hadn't left. I wish I told her to stay. I wish I was dreaming. I wish I was dead.

"STOP FRANK PLEASE" I yelled. He ignored me. I let out a screech for help but, of course no one would ever hear me. No one.

I woke up and the clock said '3:00' and I checked my phone which was now under my pillow. I had 7 missed calls. From Collin. I couldn't call him back now it was too late. Since there was no school tomorrow. I took a shower and went back to bed but, locked my door before. Collin would probably be at the party tomorrow which means I could talk to him about why he called me so much.
