Chapter 13: Elizabeth

I woke up and I knew I wasn't in my bed. The room was blue and my room was purple. I looked up and the clock said 10:43. I saw Collin at the desk sleeping. There were papers everywhere near him, he must've been doing work. I got up and checked my phone. I had two texts from Teresa.

Teresa: "Hey can I come over?"
"Elizabeth!! We need to talk ASAP!"

I was about to text her back when Collin's phone rang. It was Asher. I picked it up so he wouldn't wake up.

Asher: hello?

Elizabeth:um..

Asher: Yo! Collin, I told Teresa about the bet. I didn't mean to but she's my girlfriend and it was about her best friend and it accidentally slipped but I was going to tell you today that we should drop it.

I couldn't breathe. I couldn't breathe. It must've been a dream.

Asher: Dude? Collin? I'm sorry say something!

I picked the phone up to my ear.

Elizabeth: What was the bet Asher?!

Asher: Oh no Elizabeth--

Elizabeth: What was the bet Asher!

Collin started waking up.

Elizabeth: ASHER TELL ME! RIGHT NOW ASHER WHAT WAS THE BET!?

Asher: Collin should tell you... I-I-I hadn't said anything. It wasn't his fault though. It was Calvin's idea. On the first day back.

Collin stood up and I was so shocked. It was a joke this whole time. From the beginning he never cared about me. Collin started walking towards me. I dropped the phone. His mouth was moving but I couldn't hear what was coming out. All I could hear was Asher's voice repeating 'on the first day back'. Collin tried to touch and I grimaced and started heading towards his door. He picked up the phone and saw who was on the phone. I started to run down the stairs toward the front door. I didn't grab my jacket. I opened the front door and a woman was walking toward me. She looked confused. I heard Collin call after me. I started to run across the street. Cars were coming and horns were beeping at me. Then headlights blinded me and I fell in the middle of the road. My head was spinning and everything was blurry. That's when I realized I was crying. When the world stopped spinning I stood up and Collin was holding me. I hit him and yelled get off. Then I ran as fast as I could.

I looked at my phone and had 10 miss calls from Collin and 3 from Asher. Then I had 12 texts from Teresa. I called her.

Teresa: Hello?

Elizabeth: hey T. where are you?

Teresa: I'm out there looking for you. Where are you?

Elizabeth: I'll meet you in front of that new diner.

Teresa: Okay. But are you all alright?

Elizabeth: Yeah.

I got in front of the diner. I was so upset. This year was probably the worst of my life. It was horrible. He never cared about me. No one does. Frank was right. I am a little slut and all people want is sex from me. So that what I'll give them.

Teresa's car pulled up in front of me. She got out and hugged me then we went into the car. Her phone started ringing. It was Asher. She answered and put him on speaker.

Asher: Hey babe. Have you seen Elizabeth? I'm scared she's hurt. Collin said she didn't look well when she ran off.

Teresa: Don't 'babe' me Asher! She's right here. I picked her up. And why didn't you say anything to me about the bet or am I apart of it too?
