I kissed her she didn't move away at all. The kiss was short she looked at me smiling. Her cheeks were red.

" I've never had a kiss before this is my first and I liked it I thought girls pushed guys away," she gasped.

"Well your not a regular girl your the one I met at school and held a umbrella for you at the bus stop," I told her.

"No one's ever been that nice to me not even my mom," She laughed.

"Is it ok for you to come to my house I bet your mom is drinking right now," I asked.

"Yeah and I know she is," Emily smiled.

We walked to my house holding hands until Emily stopped. She looked at a girl coming towards us. That girl was Samantha who was as sweet as sugar.

"Hi you two what a coincidence to meet you here," She giggled.

"Hey, Samantha what are you doing walking to Central Park," Emily smiled.

" Oh nothing it's a beautiful day to walk so yeah," She said.

A car drove by with a bunch of cheerleaders and football players. Someone threw a bunch of tomatoes at Emily. Her nose flared in anger.

" Oh that's so bad not that's the funniest thing ever," Samantha  laughed.

Emily grabbed a tomato off the ground and squashed it on Samantha's hair. Samantha screamed she ran to the car parked next to us.

Emily and I walked to my house. She calmed down after a while. My house was surrounded by emergency trucks. We ran inside my mother was crying on the couch my dad was reading mail.

" You guys what's wrong is something wrong with Destiny." I said .

" Yes something bad me and your dad went to get the mail when we came back she had stabbed her self," My mom said through tears.

" More bad news, I'm going back to the Marines I'm leaving next week," My dad said.

" Dad, nothing," I grunted.

I pulled Emily to my room as I walked past what used to be Destiny's room they were pulling a bag up her body. Emily sat on my bed I paced around the room.

"Kevin I'm so sorry for your little sister," Emily said.

"It's okay I'll be fine I'm not sure what to do with my life now," I told her.

"You have a sister on the way, Kevin your life is different from mines."

I nodded. I sat on the bed with her she hugged me. My dad came in the room saying,"I'm leaving tomorrow morning I won't see you for a long time I want you to help your mother."

I said, " Dad why do you they may need you but you have to stay."

"Son I have to do this if I'm not out there who will," he told me.

He left the room. I layed on my bed thinking. Emily laid beside me curling her hand in mine. I looked at her smiling I seen a girl with big dreams. She spent the night with me my dad left while I was sleeping.

In the morning my mom got a call from the doctor. She left for the hospital I stayed home, Emily stayed with me. She cooked breakfast pancakes, sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs she was a excellent cooker if I do say so myself. We talked and watched romantic comedy.

After the end of one of the romantic comedy shows I turned off the tv. I put my hand on her face and kissed her. She put her arms around my neck. I used a universal remote and turned on some of my dad's slow jams.

The music was loud. We sat on the couch kissing and talking. She laughed and made me forget about everything wrong with the world.

My mom came in while we were kissing and her gasp was louder than the music. Emily looked at my mom I looked at her also. I turned the music off.

Emily said, "I think I should leave." She buttoned her shirt back up and grabbed her purse and coat. She ran out the door.

"Kevin you are in big trouble go to your room NOW!" She yelled.

I walked to my room. My mom came in crying but her nose was flared with anger. She told me," I was at that hospital cause the baby died but you sir are to stay in this room."

I sat at the edge of my bed making a stupid face. My mom left the room and walked out to the living room. Late evening I walked out my room and crept to the living room. My mom was staring at the tv drinking a glass of wine. She swayed the wine around a few times then drunk.

She said," Kevin I never told you to come out what do you want."

I walked over to her and took the wine glass from her. She stood up and took it back. She drank it all in one gulp. She poured her self another I sat on the stairs watching her waste her self. She talked to her self. I slipped out the apartment when she fell asleep.

I walked to the graveyard and sat near my baby sister's grave I put a thing of flowers. The sun was peeking through clouds. A hand touched my shoulder I looked up to see Emily Spell. She had on a shirt and a brown jacket and jeans. She was walking to school which from here was long.
