It was the day before spring break and I had a group of friends. I was on the football team and my new friend Henry was the captain. All the girls liked him for his red hair and great personality.

I hadn't changed a bit still had a cheesy personality no one wants that. I went into Mr.Franklin's history class. He introduced us to a new girl, Emily Spell she had brown hair and a beautiful smile. She sat beside me which to me was the best thing ever.

" Kevin will you show Emily around the school," Mr.Franklin asked.

"Sure Mr.Franklin," I answered politely.

Emily and I walked out of class. She looked around looking at posters of clubs.

" You want to sit by me and the team at lunch?" I asked.

"Sure I'd love too football is my favorite sport of all."

I smiled at her. I showed her to the gym. We walked back to class and made it when class was over. I showed her to her next class and walked to my class, biology. Henry stared me smiling.

" Dude, what do you want you've been staring at me the whole class," I said.

" You like her the new girl Emily Spell," he whispered.

"I just met her I let her sit with us only because she's a new cheer girl," I told him.

He sighed," Your never going to find love she's the one she laughs at all your jokes she has that cheesy personality."

Biology ended and he bugged me until lunch. I sat at the table talking to the team and cheerleaders when Emily sat down. Her and one of the cheerleaders eyes grew wide.

" Emily Spell well, well, well little Ms.Cupcake I thought your family left the state," Samantha snarled.

"No, I transferred schools for a while I couldn't leave this school even because of you," Emily smiled.

" Well welcome to the team. This will be your worse nightmare,"Samantha laughed evilly.

She snapped her fingers and the team and her walked out the cafeteria. We continued with lunch and Emily laughed at every corney joke I said. At the end of the day I walked to football practice. We did a few laps around the field.

We ended practice early cause it started storming outside. I forgot my phone at home so I had to walk. Emily ran behind me. She stopped me and asked, " Can I come over your house I won't be able to get home in the rain."

" Sure, want to use my umbrella I have a hoodie." I said.

She nodded we walked to the city bus stop. I held the umbrella up to her while she was nice and dry I was soaking wet. The bus came we sat in the back talking. She had two younger sisters and she lived with her mom.

"My mom and dad split when I was 12 my dad was a nice guy until he lost his job. He was a heavy drinker when that happened my mom got tired of his act after a few months they started arguing they finally called it quits," She forced a smile.

"Well what does your mom do for you all," I asked.

"She is now a heavy drinker but she still works she gets crazy after a while that's why I hate going home," Emily sniffled.

" I'm sorry to hear that," I told her.

She sat on my lap I ran my hand through her hair. We stopped at my stop she closed the umbrella and we ran into my apartment. My parents were at work and my sister was at a friend's house for the week.

We sat on the couch she looked at the pictures. She got a call from her mom I got a call from mine. She went upstairs.

My mom was on the other line crying hysterically. I heard sirens in the other line.

"Mom what's wrong is everything ok," I said.

"Your sister's gone, Kevin come to five state street," My mom cried.
