"Your father is coming home but his left leg was amputated," she sobbed.

I dropped my phone thinking of the horrid thought of my dad. Emily waved her hand in my face. I looked at her.

She told me, "It's okay to cry everyone does even big grown men"

I layed my head on her shoulder and cried. Relief flooded through me but I never knew I'd cry for love. I left her house and walked to my apartment. My dad met me at the door he was in a wheelchair. He hugged me I cried to see my dad like this. My dad whispered, "Everything is fine I'm still alive that's all that matters."

I felt good to see my dad again but bad that I didn't appreciate him much more before he left. I know his leg wasn't my fault but it feels like it was. He was like Destiny sitting in a wheelchair and it felt like my fault. I walked with my dad we walked to a pizza place down the block.

"New York has great pizza," My dad said as we walked out.

People stared at him as we walked the streets whispering to the person next to them. One guy came up to us and said," Thank you for protecting our country, sir."

My dad nodded. We spent the day together cause at any given time he could leave me and I'd never see him again. We rode the elevator to the apartment. My mom and sister were waiting at the door for us.

"Kevin go to your room," My mom said.

I walked in my room Destiny came in with me. Destiny pulled herself onto my bed and layed down. She grabbed a magazine from my night stand and started reading it.

"Ok, isn't your surgery tomorrow." I asked.

"Yea, it's badder than getting your tonsils out," She sighed.

I laughed. I layed on the bed with her she digged her hand in my pocket and grabbed my phone. She looked through my pictures and stopped at a picture of Emily.

"Why is she in a bikini that's definitely disgusting " she gagged.

"We went to California for a week," I laughed.

"Why didn't you invite me to this party," She said pointing to a picture.

My eyes widened I tried to grab my phone put she swayed it to the other side. She dragged herself to her wheel chair. She zoomed out the room. I chased her down the hall. My mom and dad were talking on the couch. Destiny showed them the pictures of Emily and the party I was told not to go to.

"KEVIN DOWN HERE NOW!" My mom and dad yelled.

I sat on the couch as they lectured me. Emily came in when they finished yelling, she was wearing a hoodie and held her hand to her face.

My mom took the hoodie off her and gasped.
