Happily everyone clapped their hands as Louis blew out the four candles on his big blue birthday cake. The whole family sat around with silly birthday hats on and took pictures while the little kids ran around the palace gardens. There was so much chaos and Emily loved it while the rest of the house squirmed in fear. Taking off her shoes she ran around with the kids and bounced around the bouncy house with them having a blast.

     “Thank you,” Anne smiled.

“Are you being serious?” Emily asked dodging kids.

“As much as we fight you are always here for Louis.”

“I’m not fighting Louis what is between us is between us.”

“I’m truly glad you’re marrying my brother,” she smiled.

“I want you to be in the wedding,” Emily blurted.

     “Really?” Anne exclaimed.

“Fresh start,” Emily said extending her hand.

Instead of a handshake Anne hugged Emily surprising everyone around them and Emily. Afterwards Emily walked away unsure what to do or what to say it was weird to even be that close without taking a dig at each other. Feeling awkward Emily stumbled over to David who quickly let it be known he didn’t want to know what was going on between them.

“Happy birthday big guy,” Emily smiled.

     “Thank you,” Louis mumbled.

“What do you say to visiting uncle David and I?”

     “Really?”

“Definitely in a couple of weeks,” David smiled.

     “Awesome!” Louis smiled.

Quickly Louis took off running to go play with his friends completely over the moment just like any normal four year old. Emily loved watching him act like a normal kid especially when he was a future duke or lord or something even higher. When he came to California it was complete normalcy well as much as possible.

     “Today was great,” Emily smiled.

“Promise me we wont miss these moments,” David begged.

“I didn’t when I was on tour I wont start now.”

     “I love you.”

David kissed Emily feeling completely reassured about moving to a whole new country. Emily was terrified of marrying a prince and David was terrified of moving to California. All night they reassured each other that things would be all right as Louis’ royal birthday party went underway. As they mingled with other royals and important world leaders Emily and David heard tons of opinions. When the night was over both of them felt even better about their decisions.

The next morning Emily was like a little kid sneaking cake for breakfast. Having Eddie personally bring the cake up so no one would know she tip toed around her bedroom not to wake David up but he woke up anyways. Slowly he sat up shaking his head at her but still wanted a bite. Straddling David’s lap Emily fed David the smallest bite and tried to keep the rest for her.

“Is this how its always going to be?” David asked.

“Birthday cake is a very serious matter,” Emily smirked.

“What about wedding cake?” he smiled.

“Even more serious extremely serious,” Emily smiled. Happily she kissed David then fed him a bigger piece of cake. It was incredible to both of them that in two months they were going to be married.
