Happily Emily waved good morning from the kitchen nook as David sleepily walked into the kitchen. Emily had been up for a little bit thanks to an early call with her dad. Not wanting to wake up David she had snuck downstairs but never managed to make it back upstairs.

"What are you looking at?" David asked curious.

"Daddy wants us to come see him and my home town," Emily smiled over her computer.

"I thought you grew up here?"

"I spent the school year here but my hometown is Concord North Carolina."

     "Well let's go then."

Emily showed David tons of pictures of her hometown where she spent every holiday and summer. Over breakfast she made arrangements for them once they got there while David dealt with flight arrangements and his security team. Excitedly she went to go pack for their night flight. She loved visiting her dad it was the best thing in the world to her. Her brother couldn’t fly in for the entire trip but he was going to try to pop in for a day or two. If everyone were together Emily would be ecstatic.

“I’ve never seen you like this,” David said amazed.

     “Everything is great!” Emily smiled.

“You really love your family,” he laughed.

“Most days,” she sighed. Boarding the royal jet David stretched out on the couch while Emily sat at the table for working on her computer. When they landed Emily practically ran off the plane straight into her father’s arms. Happily he greeted them both before leading them to his truck and tossing Emily the keys. As they drove Adam made jokes about David being crazy for wanting to marry Emily. By the time the jokes started to get annoying to Emily they were pulling into the round driveway of the family home.

“This your family house?” David asked.

“Its gone through many changes,” Adam laughed.

The house expanded outward and upwards on a giant piece of land. As Emily led the way up the walkway to the front door David kept looking around at all the trees and wide open space. Inside was even as amazing as the outside was. Everything was luxurious with dark hardwood floors yet comfortable and perfect for a family to live in.

“Hunting six o’clock,” Adam warned walking away.

     “Hunting?” David asked surprised.

“Oh don’t worry we’ve got gear for you,” Emily smiled.

     “Oh great,” he said scared.

Emily hurried upstairs to show David his room before going into the kitchen to make something to eat. She was just about to take a bite of her sandwich when she heard the sound of the car transporter backing up. Excitedly she put down her sandwich and ran outside to great her father’s team. Happily everyone gave her a big hug and made a joke about her never coming to visit.

“Are you afraid to get dirty?” one them asked.

“So not happening boys,” Emily warned.

“Who is the fresh meat?” another asked.

“Who do you think?” Adam asked smacking him on the back of the head. “Its David be nice.”

“David meet the boys,” Emily smiled. One by one she introduced Adam’s pit crew to David before they got back to work. Adam had big race coming up at the end of the week and they needed to work on his car.
