Alex could hardly contain his excitement as he gathered his suitcases from baggage claim. He'd been awaiting this night for weeks.

As much as he loved being back home with his family, celebrating the holidays, it was rare that he and Scott got the house to themselves for a whole night.

Between Scott being with his own family for the holidays, and doing something or another for Pentatonix, it almost never happened.

They hated cutting family time so short, but they needed this.

They'd had it planned for weeks. One night alone to do whatever they wanted with no interruptions.

After Alex retrieved his car from the parking garage, he pulled out his phone and took it off of airplane mode.

He pulled the car door closed as he read the new text from Scott.

His smile fell as he eyes scanned over the words.

Hey babe. My flight got cancelled and there aren't any others until tomorrow. I tried getting ahold you before you left. I'm so sorry :( I'll see you tomorrow. I love you so much. Call me when you get back to LA.

Alex was hit with a sudden sadness at the text. This was just his luck.

He pressed the little phone icon next to Scott's name before holding his phone to his ear.

It rang three times before Scott answered. "Hey babe," he answered, sadly.

"Hey freak," Alex replied.

"I am so sorry. I should've gotten an earlier flight. Then we—"

"Hey, it's not your fault. We get to see each other tomorrow," Alex reminded him.

He heard Scott sigh, "Yeah. Mitch is coming home tomorrow too, though. We have rehearsals in the afternoon," he informed him.

Alex frowned, "That's okay. Hey, at least you get to spend more time with your family," he pointed out, trying to remain optimistic.

"That's true," Scott replied.

Alex smiled, "Are you having a good time?" He quizzed.

"I am...but I'd rather be with you," Scott replied. Alex could practically hear his smile through the phone.

Alex chuckled, "Dork," he muttered.

"I love you," Scott promised.

"I love you too," Alex whispered.

"Good. Now get home and enjoy your night alone," Scott ordered.

Alex couldn't help but smirk at the possibilities, "Oh, I will," he assured him in suggestive tone.

"You naughty boy," Scott teased, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay, goodnight freak. Have a safe flight tomorrow. Love you."

"I love you too. Goodnight."

Once Alex hung up, he sighed, and began driving home.

He very carefully plugged his phone into the aux port and turned on Misbehavin'. He put it on repeat and sang along all the way home.

Once he finally got home, he gathered his suitcases from the trunk, before ascending the 4 steps that led up to their large house.

He fished his key out of his pocket before unlocking the door. He entered the house, and as soon as he went to turn on the light, he stopped and assessed the situation before him.

His heart instantly fluttered.

Two lines of Christmas lights were laid out, creating a path to the candlelit dinner in the dining room. He left his suitcases by the door as he followed the little path to the table.

He then took a moment to focus on the sound of Misbehavin playing softly. But, it was a never-before-heard acoustic version with just Scott singing and playing piano, nearly bringing Alex to tears.

The Christmas tree was lit up, shining on all of his beloved Wizard of Oz ornaments.

As soon as Alex heard a familiar voice humming along to the music absentmindedly, he glanced up as Scott bounced down the stairs, completely oblivious to him.

Scott came to a halt at the last step as he looked at the suitcases by the door. He turned the corner and gaped at Alex.

"Oh my god. I thought it would take you longer to get home. I was just using the bathroom...that's not romantic at all and a little gross. I'm such a mess, I didn't think—" Scott started rambling nervously. It was amazing how after 2 and half years, Alex's presence could still get him all flustered.

Alex rolled his eyes playfully, before crossing the room quickly, and pulling Scott into a kiss, instantly shutting him up.

He grinned up at him after he pulled away.

Scott smiled sheepishly before pulling the slightly shorter man into his arms. "I'm sorry for lying. I thought it would be cute to surprise you," he explained.

"Freak," Alex muttered, before smiling against Scott's neck.

"I love you too," Scott whispered.

A/N: I thought this was adorable oops. Idk why but one of the cutest things in the world is Alex calling people "freak". Sorry for not updating this yesterday, I was a busy girl. Comment and lemme know what you think. Stay fcute! Ily
