Kirstie yawned tiredly as she crossed the living room towards the door. She rolled her eyes at another impatient knock, and bit back an annoyed remark.

She grabbed the door and pulled it open, glaring up at her bandmate.

"Kevin, it's 7 in the morning on our day off. I don't want to sound rude, but...why are you here?" She mumbled, groggily.

"I'm so sorry to bother you so early. But uh...Christmas is coming up, and I was talking with Alyssa. Well...we've been together for a while now, so, I guess it's OK. But..."

"Kevin," Kirstie warned, prompting him to get to the point.

He nodded, "She wants to get a dog together," he informed her sheepishly.

Kirstie sighed and pushed her hair back, before smiling, "That's great. But that doesn't answer my question," she pointed out.

He sighed, "I never had a pet growing up. I was always busy with school or something. So, I thought maybe I could observe you with Olaf and learn that way. I would've observed Mitch with Wyatt, but I feel like waking him up at 7 in the morning would've resulted in me losing a limb," he explained.

Kirstie groaned, "I could just tell you about pet care," she offered.

Kevin frowned, "Watching it firsthand would be more beneficial, I feel," he replied. "Just, pretend like I'm not here. I know, it's a little weird, but I don't want to mess this up," he explained sincerely.

Kirstie softened a bit, before nodding. "Come on in. Want some coffee?" She offered.

"Yes please, thank you," he replied before sitting on the couch.

After making some coffee, showering and getting dressed, Kirstie tried to pretend Kevin wasn't there as she prepared Olaf for his walk.

She baby-talked him while she pet him and attached his leash to his collar. She smiled excitedly, before side-glancing at Kevin.

She couldn't help but laugh at his actions. "Are you taking notes?" She inquired.

Kevin looked up at her abruptly, "I don't wanna forget," he noted before finishing his notes.

Kirstie playfully rolled her eyes before heading towards the door, while Kevin and Olaf followed promptly.

"So, remember, if you do get a dog, be ready to miss them a lot because we're so busy. It's like having another significant other," Kirstie explained as they exited the house and headed to the sidewalk.

Kevin nodded, "I know," he assured her.

"Did she mention what kind of dog she wants to get?" Kirstie quizzed.

Kevin shook his head, "She said we'd discuss that when she comes over later. Do you have any suggestions?"

"Well, I'm always gonna have a bias for huskies. Or just any big dog in general. I guess small dogs are okay too, but they're very yappy and annoying," Kirstie explained wisely.

Kevin nodded, and scribbled something into his little notepad.

"Here, walk him for a bit," Kirstie instructed before handing over the leash.

Kevin handed her the notepad, before grasping the leash, nervously between both of his hands.

"Relax, you're holding a leash, not a grenade," Kirstie reminded him.

"Sorry," Kevin murmured. He smiled as he began to relax and walk in step with the bubbly husky.

"See, you're a natural," Kirstie stated playfully, before they both laughed.

They talked casually throughout the rest of the walk before returning to the house.

"Also, puppy care is gonna be a lot different," Kirstie pointed out.

"Alyssa has been looking into a rescue clinic at full grown dogs. I'm too busy for us to raise a puppy together," Kevin assured her, and she nodded in response.

Kirstie put the leash away before feeding a very eager Olaf.

Kevin nodded and noted the amount she gave him before sitting on the couch.

After several hours of this observing, Kirstie couldn't help but feel annoyed every time Kevin scribbled something into his notebook.

She stood in front of him as he did so, before reaching out and grabbing it out of his hands.

"Hey!" He exclaimed, sounding offended.

Kirstie carelessly tossed it aside before crossing her arms. "Not all dogs are the same. Caring for different dogs is gonna be different," she declared.

"But you were fine with the notetaking earlier," he reminded her.

She sighed, "I've been thinking. I had to learn how to take care of Olaf. The general stuff is common sense. There isn't one way to care for a dog. As long as you love them and make sure they're safe and healthy, you're gonna be a great pet owner," she explained.

Kevin stood up, frowning slightly, "I just don't want to mess this up," he repeated from earlier.

Kirstie put her hands on his shoulders and stared up at him, "You won't. You're the smartest person I know, and one of the most caring. You won't mess this up. You'll figure it out," she promised.

Kevin smiled before pulling her into a friendly hug. "Thank you, Kirstie."

"Any time."
