I closed the flat door behind me and a tightened the scarf around neck before facing the cold winter breeze. As I walked across the campus I could feel eyes staring right through me as people pointed and whispered thinking they were being conspicuous but they weren't, I knew what they where talking about. People where already recognising me from the photos. I hated this, I felt awkward. But I just kept my head down and walked faster towards my lecture hall.
I walked up the steps to a free seat next to James. As I took my seat I heard him whisper something to me. "I can't believe you didn't tell me that the guy you where seeing was Niall Horan, I thought we where friends ? Can you not trust me or something" he got up and moved to the far side of the room.
Great I thought, the one friend I have is now gone. What am I going to do, I could really use a friend to talk to right now.The lecture ended and as people stood up from their seats and made their way to the door, I looked out for James. He was a good bit a head of me, but I had to catch up with him, I couldn't leave things the way they where. I pushed past people calling out his name, trying to get his attention. Eventually outside the building he took notice of me.
"What Eliza, I can't be bothered to talk to you now"
"I'm sorry James, but I couldn't tell you" I took his arm and lead him to a bench to sit down. "I wanted to, I did, but I couldn't"
"Why, I wouldn't have told anyone"
I believe you but, it's better when people didn't know. I was still getting to know Niall. I didn't want people to have their opinions on our relationship status as well. I hope you understand." I asked him
He just nodded and that was enough, I knew he understood.
