"What are you thinking of ordering" James asked as he handed me a menu
'Hmm I don't know everything looks so good" I said as I felt the inside of my mouth water.
"So tell me about this guy you spent the other night with" he questioned me.
"I don't really know what to say, we just meet at the bar and got to talking and we ended up back at mine, but we didn't actually do anything if you know what I mean"
"I'm sure" he laughed
"No seriously we didn't, I know what your thinking" I smiled at him.
"Fine, so have you seen him since? "
"No, actually he doesn't exactly live in this area. I haven't actually spoken to him since either" I said quite quietly as I stared down at a spot on the menu.
"What" he said quickly "this guy you've been drooling over and taking up your mind with and you haven't even heard from him since ?" He kind of laughed.
"What's so funny about that" the tone in my voice was beginning to change.
"He clearly isn't interested love" James snickered.
"What do you mean?" my voice changed from anger to curiosity and I could feel my stomach uneasy.
" if he wanted to see you again Eliza he would have been in contact by now, I'm telling you as a guy that if he liked you, you would have heard from him. I would just forget about him actually, doesn't sound like the type of guy you'd want to spend time with anyway" he said as he called over the waiter.
"What do you know, you don't even know him, stop making assumptions about people, he's worth a hundred of you!" I shouted at him "oh and you can get the bill" I hissed as I grabbed my bag and jacket from the back of the chair.
Standing outside I began to think, what if James is right and Niall really just wasn't interested in me. Why am I so caught up in this. It was only one night. I need to get it out of my head and treat it as Niall seemed to be doing, a one night thing.
Just as I started to head back to the flat I felt my phone buzz and I lifted it out of my back pocket to check the screen. It was Niall.
