The next morning, Larken went out Lila's window before she woke up and he hoped that when they met up later, she wouldn't be pissed at him. Lila woke up to her alarm and got up to get ready. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled at herself. She thought she looked pretty today. Her hair fell perfectly and when she put on her eyeliner, her eyes popped even more than without. She thought that there was a sort of glow about her that she hadn't seen before. She threw on a plain white v-neck shirt and a her skinny jeans. Running late, she slipped on her shoes and grabbed her jacket and things.

"Delilah, come on!" her father called. She ran down stairs and into the car.

"Did you over sleep, or what?" he asked her.

"Yeah, sorry."

"If you want to do better, then you need to act better."

"I'm trying," she said, leaning against the window and staring outside.

"Well, apparently not hard enough."

When Larken got to the school, he realized that his jacket was a little snug. He pulled it off and looked at it, and sure enough there wasn't a tear in it from where his father grabbed him the night before. He must of grabbed Lila's.

"Hey, Lark!" Larken turned around to see Fredrick and his friends advancing toward him.

"Hey Fred," he said, rolling Lila's jacket into a ball.

"There's a party tonight at my casa. You down?" Larken thought of the last party he went to. It was two weeks ago, the night he moved in, and it was also at Fred's. It was okay. Then he thought of Lila, and the night they spent together. All they did was cuddle and sleep, but it was the best night of his life. Better than any party. He didn't know if he should go. Lila probably expected him back at her place, but a party could help his nerves and to just relax. She probably wouldn't like it.

"Yeah, I'm down." They grabbed hands roughly and shook.

"See ya tonight then my bitch!" Fred yelled. Larken smiled and continued on his way to Lila's locker to wait for her. He leaned against it and shut his eyes. He felt like he couldn't breathe. There was a giant boulder on his chest and he couldn't pull it off. His parents, school, Lila, this party. It all needed to go away. They were pushed away so hard that they bounced back and hit him twice as hard. He couldn't escape his problems.

"Larken." Larken opened his eyes and a tall blonde girl stood in front of him. He suddenly pulled up his posture.

"Hilary. H-how did you know I was here? You go here?" he asked nervously.

"Uh, yeah. And I saw you standing here." She readjusted her bag.

"I didn't know."

"Obviously. I missed you Larken." She looked under her lashes at him. She was beautiful. Perfect body, shiny hair. She always wore the best clothes, had the best friends, went to the best places. Hilary was the best.

"When did you transfer. I thought you went up north," Larken said.

"This is up north, Larken. It's okay though, you were never the brightest," she pressed her boobs on his chest,"-but you were always the best in bed," she whispered. She palmed him through his pants and turned around to leave. She swayed her hips in her tight pink expensive sweats. Larken just stared. He couldn't believe she was here. At his new school, his brand new start. Again. His heart was racing and he was sweating as Lila came up to him.
