chapter 3

The next morning I woke up early to avoid my uncle, he is the kind of person that makes a big fuss about first days. When I got to school only five to six people where there including the cleaners.

"Good morning" I said to one of the cleaners as I passed.

"Good morning, dear" she said.

 I walked to the map in the centre of the school to check where the principal office was, it was a very big school and if you don't know the place you could get lost, literally.

"Miss McCarthy" A tall gentle looking woman said.

"That's me" I said.

"Come in" She said. I got up, took my bag and walked into the cream coloured room. There was a desk at one end and three chairs at the other." Sit!"

"Thank you" I said.

"I'm Jessica Reed, the principal" She said. 

We talked about why I haven't been to school in three years and some other things. We talked for about two hours.

"Your first class is history, I will take you" Mrs. Reed said and got up. 

I got up and walked with her to my first class. I felt timid and childish standing in front of about 20 people with everyone staring at me.

"I'm Addison McCarthy" I said trying not to sound scared. 

A boy raised his hand from the back.

"Lukas" Mr. Wilson said, the history teacher.

"Are you related to the couple that died nine years ago?" Lukas asked. I froze.

"They were her ...parents" Mrs. Reed said." Are you okay?"

Everyone laughed. So not she could have at least whispered it or something

"Yes" I said and went to my seat. 

Mrs. Reed left and the lesson begun. After the lesson I went to the next class which was math.

"Addison, wait up" A girl with red hair said." I'm Carla"

"I don't know what to say, you already know my name" l said.

" I'm sorry about your parents" Carla said.

"It's okay" I said. I turn to leave " I'm over it"

Lie

"Can I walk with you to class, I also have maths" Carla said.

"How do you know I have math" I asked.

" There are only two rooms towards that side, the teachers' lounge and math class." Carla smiled.

We sat by each other and made small talk.

"I don't get it.Why are you actually here?" I asked.

"You've got me, Mrs. Reed asked me to watch out for you in case you get picked on because of .......... you know" She said. I knew what she was talking about, the incident in the morning.

"Thank you but you don't have to" I said and started packing my books.

"But I'm having so much fun with you" Carla said.

"I like having you around" I said with a smile.

"Can we be friends? " Carla asks.

"Sure" I say and she smiles happily at me. First day and I have already made a friend. She seems nice.

After school, Carla's mum drove me home when she came to pick Carla up. 

"How was school? Uncle William greeted me upon entering the house, he was about to leave and pick Micha up from school.

" Fine" I said and sped upstairs to have a quick nap. 

I know i love to sleep, it brings me comfort, I think. But seriously insist it nice to sleep and dream of a perfect life?

"Addison...........Addison" Micha screamed going in and out of every room looking for me. 

I was in my mom's closet picking out an outfit for tomorrow. I settled on a black tight jeans with a white top and a black leather jacket. Now for jewellery, I picked a locket but I was scared to open it.

"Dinner" Uncle William called and I quickly went downstairs.

"Where were you?" Micha asked.

"A secret place" I said.

"What did you do today?" Uncle William.

"I learnt how to spell" Micha said.

"I got embarrassed in front of my history class" I said.

"What happened?" Uncle William asked.

"A guy asked me if my parents were the couple that died last nine years and I froze, the principal had to answer for me" I said." It was so embarrassing, I was like a child"
After dinner, I learnt a little and went to bed. Boring,I know!
