My last classes got cancelled so I told Carla that I was leaving and went to sit at the bus stop waiting for a bus.
Everything went dark but I was still awake. I kicked and screamed so much that my kidnapper tied me up and taped my mouth. I was flung over a person's shoulder and dumped into something I presume is the trunk of a car.
The journey is quite short and when we get to our destination I am picked up and sent into a building. We walk down wooden stairs and I am placed on a chair. The black thing and the tape is taken off. My eyes adjust to the light and in front of me is no other than Uncle Austin.
"Why would you kidnap me?" I asked.
"Richard wants you dead. I told you to stop" Uncle Austin said.
"Are you going to kill me like you killed my parents?" I asked and Uncle Austin lowered his gaze.
"Leave this city,Addison" Uncle Austin said.
"No! I am going to make sure Richard ends up in jail" I said.
"Listen to him" Lucy said descending the stairs with a man who looked so much like Taylor.
"We are trying to help you" He said.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"We haven't met yet. I'm Toby, Taylor's dad"
"I would shake you but my hands are tied up" I said.
"Austin" Toby said and Uncle Austin untied the ropes.
"Thanks" I said.
Lucy knelt in front of me and put a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I had a daughter, Willow, she looked like Carla. She had Asthma and one day I left her with a nanny. When I closed from work I went to pick her up but I was told Richard already had" Lucy said.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Lucy found her daughter in her bed at home. She picked her up and she was ice cold. She called 911 and when they arrived she was told Willow died two hours ago. She had an asthma attack and Richard did not save her. It was like he made Willow have an asthma attack" Toby ended because Lucy was weeping.
"Why would he do that?" I asked.
"Lucy and your mom got really close to putting him in jail and he killed Willow to make Lucy stop helping Brianna" Toby said.
"I'm so sorry, Lucy, but I can't stop" I said.
"You don't get it! Everything you do puts Carla, Amanda, Taylor, Micha and your Uncle in danger" Toby said.
"All we have to do is give the evidence to the cops" I said
"No one will believe you. The only town that would is where everything started and Richard will never go back there" Uncle Austin said.
Toby put a hand on my shoulder and said, "Burn the evidence and run, Addison, before it is too late"
"I want to leave" I said.
"The city?" Lucy said.
"This house!" I said an got off the chair.
"My son is very lucky to have you" Toby said but I didn't stop.
I went up the stairs and out of the door. I took a cab home. The house was empty when I got there. I went to my room and curled into a ball under my sheets. I wasn't cold but I had goosebumps on my arms. The sound of my phone ringing startled me. The caller ID read Carla so I picked up.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey, are you okay? You sound off" Carla said.
"I am going to burn the evidence" I said.
"What? No!" Carla said.
"Carla, please don't try to change my mind" I said
"Why?" She asked.
"Richard wants me dead" I said. "I will be leaving soon"
"There is another way"
"What other way?"
"We can put him in jail"
"We can't. He is protected as long as he is in Texas" I said.
"Then we have to get him out if Texas" Carla said and I know she has an evil grin on her face.
"You are amazing" I said.
"I know" Carla said
