It's thanksgiving and we are having a family dinner and Grandmother Edna is coming. She is my mom and Uncle William's mother. A great and lovely woman. Lilian is also coming, 'they are trying to work it out' but I think they already have during the picnic trip, when I was in New York.
"I'll be back in three hours, please keep the house tidy" Uncle William said. He was going to pick Grandmother Edna from her house and bring her here.
"Everything would be fine" I assured him.
"Take care, Lilian will arrive soon. Don't take too much snacks and....." I cut him off by shoving him out of the door.
"Bye" I said.
"Bye" He said and walked to his new car. He sold the truck and bought a four wheel drive.
"Good! I thought he will never leave" Micha touched her head dramatically. I laughed and she smiled.
"You are learning from that acting class, aren't you?" I said.
"Yep" Micha said popping the 'p'.
"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked.
"What movie?" Micha asked.
"Rio" I said.
Ten minutes into the movie Lilian arrives with grocery bags ready to prepare mashed potatoes, rice and beef stew, salad and pudding for dessert.
After the movie, I put on my blue shirt dress and helped Micha wear her jumper dress. After cooking, Lilian changes into a red body con dress. The door bell rang and I went to open it.
"Marie" Grandmother Edna said calling me by my middle name.
"Grandmother" I said and hugged her
"Granny" Micha called.
"My little princess, come here" Grandmother Edna said and Micha jumped into her arms.
"Looking good Lilian" Grandmother Edna said.
"Thank you Edna. You look even better" Lilian said and Grandmother Edna smiled.
We went into the dinning room and the table was full with food, there was a huge turkey in the middle. Lillian lit candles so we didn't need the lights. We take our seats, say the grace and dig in.
"This is amazing" Grandmother Edna said referring to the food.
"Thank you" Lillian said.
"How's school?" Grandmother Edna asked Micha and I.
"Fine" we both said.
"And you? Any new jobs?" She asked Uncle William.
"Going back to my old job, publishing" Uncle William said.
"That's good" She said.
After eating, Micha helps Lillian and I wash the dishes.
"I miss Brianna" Grandmother Edna said.
"Me too" I said and take a sit by her.
"She loved you.... They loved you" She said.
"I know" I said in a weak voice.
Grandmother Edna pulled me close and kissed my forehead.
"Do you remember Brianna's circle of friends?" Grandmother Edna said.
"Yeah, Brianna, Austin, Lucy (Carla's mum), Fred and Toby" Uncle William smiled.
"Who's Toby?" I asked.
"Taylor's dad" Uncle William said.
"Really?" I said.
"Yep" Uncle William said.
There are so many things I don't know about my mom, but I am going to find out.
